Perfect Anniversary!by Yahoo | 2009-11-30 18:59:56 |

What an amazing group. We enjoyed our stay so much. The staff was so helpful. The hotel restaurant provided us with incredible meals. Julie directed us to Antonia's Restaurant (on Duval) when we told her we needed pasta and it was the best we'd ever had. We were located near everything and had a wonderful view of the ocean. We'll definitely visit again.

Would stay again.by Yahoo | 2009-07-30 20:20:50 |

Of the categories of accommodations in Key West (Inn, Hotel, B&B, Cottage, Resort, Condo) I would say Ocean Key is more of a luxury hotel than resort. When I think of resorts, I think of more on property activities and amenities (such as their own, beach boats, etc). We stayed here for our wedding/honeymoon and had a wonderful room with a partial water view. The room was clean, large, colorfully decorated and had many nice touches - such as the large whirlpool tub in the bedroom. The shower head was awesome (and judging by the price list left in the room that included it, people may be in the habit of taking them). Normally we like to explore and go out for breakfast but we took to having room service on our balcony all but one day since we enjoyed the selections that much. We normally like to stay in small B & Bs, but this, along with La Concha are two places I'd look forward to staying again. The Ocean Key is a bit of a splurge cost wise so maybe on our next big anniversary.

Simply Awesomeby Yahoo | 2008-04-30 23:31:34 |

From the minute we parked our car we received the best service - entered our room Suite 418 we just smiled and then we walked to the balcony - really we were overwhelmed by the view. Since it is located on Duvall street you never have to drive again. I could not have picked a better resort to stay at this April 2008. We will go back without a doubt - great city, great people, great bars - we loved Key West!!

WOWby Yahoo | 2008-01-29 02:40:39 |

What a perfect weekend in the keys and this hotel was amaazzzinng! Perfect view of the ocean, the sunset, and mallory square was around the corner and so was duval, awesome service, the pool is beautiful, couldn't have asked for a better hotel to stay in...I definitely give it a perfect score!

Took Friends and they loved it as mufch as I doby Yahoo | 2007-12-13 21:19:31 |

I lived in Key west for two years when this property went from a condominium to a motel. I have always thought they had the best location. You can see the sunset and the Mallory Square revelers at the same time, and are at the end of Duval street with no parking hassels. Plus the rooms are awesome.

If this isn't PAradise-I don't know what would be!by Yahoo | 2007-05-17 21:01:02 |

I don't know how anybody could have made my stay better. After returning from the BVI (British Virgin Islands) this place is a great turnaround. The service was personable and accommdating unlike the BVI. The staff was always saying hello and looking out to help you. I must have made at least three new friends (read...the staff). Unlike my experiences in the BVI!!! After going to the American Caribbean Island of St. Thomas and going to the American Caribbean Island of Key West, there is no question. The Caribbean Island you can drive to (K.W.) is a much better vacation. I had no problems with the room, beautiful in every way. Refinements all around, the staff takes pride in the way the place is kept from the bathroom to the patio terrace. I was on the fourth floor (only allowed to build five stories in K.W.) and had a perfect view of the Ocean-beautiful azure Seas ~everyday and Mallory Sqaure. At this locale the Cruise ships dock nearby (right down the plaza), but there is not overcrowding like in other cruise ship ports. There are two restaurants. "Hot Tin Roof" is an intimate dining venue with outdoor seating. Cool and breezy on the terrace outside. Plenty of overhead fans to circulate the already warming air from the Atlantic Ocean. Our dinner consisted of an appetizer of Tempura dipped, Seaweed wrapped Crab cake that was an outstanding presentation. The main entree of Macadamia nut crusted Grouper was tender perfection. So fresh from the sea, they must get it right from the fishing fleet a couple blocks away. The other restaurant is actually the Pier that is juxtaposing out from the harbor cove into the Ocean. You can find the best "Sunset" in America here. Looking out onto the Ocean while enjoying a remarkable sunset~with a cervas~is a good thing! I saw on-line that many reviews had nothing but good things to say about this resort. I can't agree more. When you have a Caribbean resort so close and accessible why would you go to a passport destination???

NEVER AGAIN !by Yahoo | 2006-09-11 01:44:39 |

My wife and have just returned from a two day stay at Ocean Key and we will NEVER stay or recommend it to anyone. First we were a bit taken back by the fact that it was 3:00 pm and housekeeping had not attended to the our room. When we inquired with the front desk, we were informed that the rooms were subjected to being made anywhere from 8:30 am till 4:30 pm. Frankly, we've never heard of such a thing but housekeeping was knocking within ten minutes albeit nearly 3:45 pm. On the following morning (Sunday) we had planned to sleep in. However, that was not going to happen this day. Roofers were doing "maintenance" above us at 8:15 am. Needless to say we had to call the desk who politely informed us that they "try" to avoid any inconveniece to the guests but (then shrugging his shoulders as if to say hey stuff happens) it can't be avoided. The front desk manager could not have been more apathetic about the entire matter. Lastly, on the very same morning we asked for a several hour extention to our check-out. We were granted one whole hour more to vacate the room instead of the two which had asked for in other words, till noon. Well, this last incident topped it for us. At 11:57 am there a knock on the door by "Lucas" who very politely requested that we vacate the room because they needed to get it clean. I stood there unable to believe that a hotel of this caliber was actually rushing us out in order to turn the room but, couldn't clean it up for till 3:45 pm the day before. Having stayed in Key West as much as we have we thought it might be nice to stay in the very center of it all for once, that was a mistake. NO guest should be treated as I have just described above much less at $300.00 night plus tax. Do not bother with this place ! There are plenty of renowned and properties in KW offering much better service for way less money. Location is not everything in KW everything is a short drive or walk away.

We'll return to hemmingway some day.by Yahoo | 2005-05-21 21:26:53 |

From the moment we arrived at the hotel I was beyond impressed. I've stayed at other luxury hotels before and nothing compares to this. If you want flooring don't go to a hotel by the ocean. It was the best place I've every stayed, the view is spectacular from every angle.
