The first time I went here was in 1989, it is the most beautiful beach in Florida. I have wonderful pictures of my mother and I wading in the beautiful turquiose water. I have only been back once since, but want to go back again soon.

When we passed by this park we almost stopped, but we were a day behind our plans. Reading this I wish I had just deverted the rest of our vacation to staying here.

We arrived in Bahia Honda (from Riverside, California) the week before the 4th of July, it was wonderful! The rangers were friendly and helpful; the employees at the concession were smart, friendly and spoke to our 8 year old daughter as if she was their equal. The atmosphere was family friendly, but if you just wanted to be alone the place is big enough that you will not be disturbed. We will be making yearly visits to Bahia Honda a family tradition.

Saved our Vacationby Yahoo | 2008-06-24 12:22:32 |

What a great park!! We were camping at Pennekamp SP and not happy there. We decided to head south and got the last available site at Bahia Honda SP. Sandy beaches, friendly rangers, clean ammenities, spacious plant lined private sites, wildlife, trails, fishing...this place is 1000x better than where we were. The kids are now having a ball, they did the ranger program, nature center activities, learned about the history and sea life (and saw it). We will be drinking coconut milk from the coconuts we found later! I can't say enough good things about this park (except they are booked for our next scheduled vacation ): ) being only 30 minutes from Key West is just an added bonus!! We'll be back

Awesome placeby Yahoo | 2008-03-15 05:58:44 |

I went with a few people primarily for a fishing trip. The fishing all around the park was excellent. Everyone is friendly, and the beaches are gorgeous. 62 dollars for 2 nights with 5 people. I highly recommend this park for anyone thinking about visiting or camping in the keys. I will most likely be going back annually after this trip. Also, the campground is rock hard, so bring something comfortable to sleep on if you are in a tent.

BEST BEACH IN THE KEYSby Yahoo | 2008-02-25 21:11:20 |

I have been coming to Bahia Honda my entire life. I'm 35 years old and haven't missed very many years. The water is usually crystal clear and knee deep for about 1/4 mile out from shore. You can look for shells and snorkel, there is a great snack bar and 3 snorkeling trips a day. It is peaceful, and generally not to crowded, although depending on the time of year you come (Spring Break) the park can fill up. There is still enough beach for reasonable privacy. The water is not to wavy and it's a great place for kids. I'm taking my 18 month old in April for his first trip and can't wait!
