Overview
Amidst the historic streets of Key West, you plunk down into a chair at this open-air bar and revel in the atmosphere. Inside The Bull, ceiling fans whir to keep you cool as you dance to live music nightly, in front of the historical mural of Key West. Upstairs in The Whistle, a wrought-iron balcony looks out over festive Duval Street. On the roof is The Garden of Eden, described as a naturalist's paradise. There is also a restaurant and raw bar here, plus a daily happy hour and live entertainment.Open Hours
Mo to Sa from 10:00 AM to 04:00 AM, Su from 12:00 PM to 04:00 AMWell, I have been coming to Key West for over 6-7 years now, and everytime I visit I make it a point to stop in the Bull for some lovely and attentive service, great drinks and the ability to play darts and billards without being hassled too much by drunken revelers. The bartenders (and bartendress') are first rate, remember your name (usually) and what you are drinking. My liver usually needs a holiday after leaving Key West and the Bull. The bouncer Larry, is a fine fellow, and helped me with the local attractions and finding my way around town. First rate restaurant critic and just a great guy to know for things "in the know" in Key West. Would absolutely insist that you include it on your lists of places to visit and experience, especially the Garden of Eden, for those of you who believe that clothes are not an absolute necessity. Enjoy......I always do!!!! Mr. W.P. Bear
My friend and I decided to take a break and see what the Fantasy Fest in Key West was up to. We were window shopping and just strolling along Duval St when we decided to stop in and share a drink at The Bull & Whistle on the corner of Caroline St. After a while, we heard some yelling, mostly swearing, on the stairs. A bunch of guys were yelling at an Asian girl who only had underwear on. She must have been upstairs at the clothing optional bar. (We didn’t go because it was pouring out, and you know…) She was trying to tell them that she wasn’t drunk but jet lagged. She just kept saying that, but the guys just ignored her and kept pulling her down the stairs and screaming insults at her. My friend and I were paralyzed. We looked out the window and saw that they had thrown her out into the street with no clothes. She got up and ran across the street where a couple guys rescued her and took her into a restaurant. We left immediately because my friend was crying and scared. Of course, we will never go there again.
What did we like.... hummmmm Was it Yankee Jack singing and playing in the Bull or was it the cold beer on hot summer days or was it the bartenders taking care of you??? OH.... I REMEMBER NOW.... it was going up to the roof to the Garden of Eden!!!!! Really.... the best part of The Bull is that it's the absolutely BEST place to sit and watch the world pass you by on Duval Street.
The Bull has great entertainment and last time I was in Key West I met a great lady who performs at the Bull and she saw me perform and I promised her that next time I was in town we would play together and WOW did we! Jeanie You Rock!!!Next up was a blues band and they were very good as well. I saw a quick tempo blues band last trip and in fact have never seen a bad act at the Bull. The Bull and staff have always been more than accomodating and there is a Great Party going on each time you walk through the door .People are always having a great time. The Bull is a MUST !! No time?? Just stick your head in for a second while running down Duvall St. and I guarantee you'll have it on your list of things to do next time you're in FAB. Key West
Four of us-two married couples-from Texas visited Key West last summer. We are in our mid 50's and are attractive active nudists. In fact we stayed at a clothing optional B & B....they told us about the 3rd floor of the Bull & Whistle....WOW! Good drinks, good music...no "teeny boppers" squealing...and lots of tanned bare flesh-just like we like it! Met some great people who helped us party way into the night....a definite place to come back to!
When you get to Key West start you experience at the Bull & Whistle. It is by far one of the best places I've ever been to where you can party and make friends just about anytime of the day or night especial the night. The folks that work there are great, excellent service. Make sure to vist all three levels, there is something for everyone. The place really rocks during Fantasy Fest in October. ENJOY!!!!!!
I recently visited Key West with my friends to celebrate our 21st birthdays. After wandering around a bit to check things out, we stumbled upon The Bull and Whistle and were instantly drawn in by the sounds of a live performance of "Me and Bobby McGee". The bartenders were great, good drinks, and the house band was awesome; we ended up partying there for the rest of the night, rockin out to tons of great classic rock cover songs. I Definitely recommend checking it out.
The Bull is a great place to sit back and relax or get up and dance. The entertainment is super, the 2 for 1 margarita's are GREAT and the people are all there for the same reason, A GOOD TIME! Then head on up to the Garden of Eden and try not to be one of the Midwestern tourists that tend to stare at anything that is bare! Get up there, let it all hang out (pun intended)and remember , What goes on in Key West Stays in Key West...You are in Key West to let your hair down...and maybe take your shirt off. ENJOY IT..I know that I did.
Very laid back with excellent folk and blues music. There's sometimes a two-for-one drink coupon on their website, when it's working.
Great group of bars (3 levels), including live music on main level, great outdoor balcony with view of Duvall street on level 2, and The roof which is named the Garden of Eden. The garden is a clothing optional place so be prepared. Go there. A must for Key West visitors.
