You won't want to leave.by Yahoo | 2009-11-03 00:16:04 |

We were treated like Kings.Crazy Ray and his crew made our vacation great, very talented bunch learned new dances can't wait to return. They didn't know what sweet tea was but they do now.You just have to see for yourself we enjoyed all of the Sandals locations you almost have to take another week off to rest up after you get back home.We are now Jamericans and have such a great bond with our brothers and sisters of Jamaica.

customer service is awfulby Yahoo | 2009-08-27 22:05:57 |

we've booked our honeymoon here, and are due to leave in 2 weeks. i wish we'd checked the reviews 1st... they made us rebook the trip for a different site b/c our our original site is closed for safety code violations. rebooking was a headache, requiring several different phone calls, and when i politely asked that Sandals include some kind of bonus consideration for our trouble, the rep responded with condescension, it's as if she thought she'd caught me stealing at Sak's 5th. i asked her to change her tone, again very politely, but she never apologized. it's one thing to decline a customer's request with polite regret; another to act like the customer's request is insulting and out of line. today i called the "customer service" line to lodge a comment about "customer service" -- and that (different) rep responded with, "uh huh?" and then silence. i asked if she needed my reservation number. she said, "yeah." i realized there was no point whatsoever, b/c the only people who care about customer service at Sandals are the customers.

We loved it!by Yahoo | 2009-08-14 13:32:58 |

This vacation was the best that my boyfriend and I have ever been on. He has been all around Europe and I have been all around North America and this is the best trip we have been on. The staff at the Sandals Inn is so amazing and helps to make the vacation. From the first day you check in, everything is made as comfortable for you as possible. The staff all remember your name, the room you are in and your favorite things to eat/drink. The food is fabulous and getting to use the other larger resorts is a fantastic plus. The beach in Jamaica is absolutely breathtaking and the sand is very white and clean. We had the absolute best time. the Inn is a very good value and we will be back again for New Years. I highly recommend this resort.

Will NEVER return to Sandals anywhere!!by Yahoo | 2008-11-06 19:47:12 |

My husband and I spent our honeymoon at the Sandal Halcyon in St Lucia, and we could not have had a worse vacation! We paid for a Honeymoon Luxury Oceanview, but when we got to our room no ocean was in sight. We had a view of the garden and backs of oceanview rooms! When we confronted the front desk with the room mistake they blamed our travel agent and said we were in the correct room. Our travel agent later confirmed we had paid for an oceanview even though thats not what we got. (We are still fighting with Sandals for our money for the difference in room fare) Furthermore, the non oceanview room we had was so humid our bed sheets felt wet, our books warped and our passports and money wilted. No amount of air conditioning could make out sheets feel dry. Also we were not given any of the honeymooner specials. Sandals websites say you get breakfast in bed one morning and champgne and rose petals, but we got none of that. We were told we "weren't properly registered" In addition to the room, the service was terrible! We were met with annoyed looks when we would ask the bar tender to make a drink or ask our waiter to bring some coffee. The only staff member who seemed to know how to smile and be polite was the bell hop. By the end of the week we were so ready to get back home. Perhaps the worst part of our whole Sandals experience was the responces we have been getting from the Sandals customer service people. My husband and I, as well as our travel agent, wrote letters to Sandals corporate offices in Florida and the responces we have gotten back have been unbelievable. Even the vice president of customer service was distasteful and rude to our travel agent's emails. The customer service has been so awful we will never spend out money at another Sandals resort anywhere!

Rip Offby Yahoo | 2008-08-12 17:37:46 |

We recently went on a trip to the Sandals Royal Caribbean and I hate to say that I wished I spent my vacation days at home watching tv. It was a bad vacation all around. The staff was completely oblivious to any concern you may raise as they are completely and utterly incompetent. If you want to go to one of the restaurants that take reservations you should just forget it. We were only able to book one restaurant the whole time we were there (7 days.) The non-reservation restaurants are pretty terrible, so if you aren't able to make reservations you'll be dissatisfied. The beach is anything but private. The toothless locals like to paddle up to the "private" beach in their kayaks and sell you crappy jewelry or some carved piece of wood. We actually saw two of these kayak harassers get in a fight with their paddles - not pretty. Security doesn't do anything about them either because of their maritime laws. The staff will ask you for tips by the way (even though they are not allowed to.) We had an oceanview room (that we had to wait an hour and a half for after our 4 hour plane ride) that overlooked the building across from us. In order to see the ocean you had to crane your head to the right. The bartenders had no idea how to make decent mixed drinks, so I drank champagne the whole time. That also became a problem because the waiters rarely come back to your table to refill your drinks. The only positive experience we had was with the scuba instructor, but since we did pay an extra $400 for the certification I would expect that he would be abiding. Our last vacation was to a much cheaper 4 star all-inclusive resort in Jamaica that we booked with AAA. We received complimentary room service without having to pay anything extra for a room service room like you do at Sandals. We were treated like kings in Cancun and like unwelcome guests at Sandals. I will never go back to Jamaica or a Sandals resort after this experience. It was a huge waste of money and vacation days.

You'll never know what to expect.by Yahoo | 2008-04-18 19:23:03 |

Overall, we did end up having a nice honeymoon, but sadly, we had to fight for it. The biggest problem with Sandals is they are extremely misleading with their advertisements. We stayed in St. Lucia Halcyon in a Luxury OCEAN view room catagory, and somehow when we arrived, our room was located in the garden with no view whatsoever of the water...? It took my husband three times of arguing and fighting to finally get our room switched. Online, when you try and find pictures of a majority of their rooms, the pictures are extremely limited- and I've determined that is for a reason. Our room was clean, but i've stayed at a nicer room in a standard hotel. I suppose we were just looking for something a little better. We are going back for a second vacation in Jamaica because during our stay we here hit by a hurricane, and even at a Penthouse catagory room I still cannot manage to see a picture! I click to see "view of room" and a picture of the pool or beach comes up? I asked a representative if they could show me a picture and they said unfortunatly we do not have one at the moment. It makes scared to not know what to expect with this place when you have thousands of dollars on the line. Even though the food, drinks and service was very good, the deceptiveness of this organization is beyond me. If I was spending thousands of dollars on my honeymoon I would want be positive that I was getting what I was paying for, and unfortunatly you'll never know what to expect.

This place is nothing like the pictures or dispcrition. The beach is not private, it is shared with locals, and very scary. Spend a few extra to go to Montego Bay or Royal Carribian.. well worth it.

Always Staying Here!!!by Yahoo | 2006-07-11 05:39:54 |

We absolutely loved staying at the Inn better than Montego Bay or the Royal. The staff was superb. Every night there was something fun to do and the staff was right there with us in the middle of it. They really made our time worth while. The Island is beautiful and everyone was very hospitable. we had so much fun there on our honeymoon and can't wait to come back for a vacation visit.

We will not returnby Yahoo | 2006-02-20 22:12:32 |

We just got back from a 7 day vacation at Sandals Inn in Montego Bay Jamaica. I don't usually write reviews but this time I felt very compelled to say something. First let me start with the positives: - The staff at the Inn are very curteous and nice - The resort is very clean and the grounds are kept quite nice - The bartenders at Sandals Inn make the best drinks of any of the 3 MoBay Sandals resorts - The food is good but not great. Chef Lawrence is wonderful though and if you have dietary needs, he'll work with you to make whatever you want/need. Now the negatives: - There is a road right in front of the hotel that the locals use as a drag strip and many have loud pipes on their cars that set off car alarms at all hours of the night. - The beach across the street is a public beach that is no larger than my bedroom (16x12) and the locals bathe in the water there! - There is a "back alley" type feel to the front of the hotel complete with drug dealers on the opposite side of the street. I was shocked to find out that many of the hotel workers will go to them and get you whatever it is you want (learned this from other guests) - The bed looked like it was about to fall apart; it was creaking every time you'd move or even sneeze. This made it difficult to get a good night sleep to say the least! Overall, the hotel wasn't the worst part of our vacation. The city of Montego Bay was. The poverty level was so great that it was hard to enjoy ourselves when we were off the Sandals Inn property. Sandals runs shuttles back and forth between the 3 MoBay resorts and you have to drive through the slumms to get to and from each one. There are no restaurants off the resort properties and even if there were, it's not safe enough to go out on your own. We did manage to go shopping but we were escorted by a hotel employee. We will not return to Jamaica again. It's just not for us.
