Overview
This classic 19th-century mansion captures Jamaica's architectural past. Nestled between towering palm trees overlooking a fountain, the restored landmark stands out prominently amidst the urban backdrop of Kingston. Furnished with antique furniture, carpets, paintings and drapes, the house immerses visitors in colonial charm. The adjoining courtyard has craft and souvenir shops, a restaurant and an ice cream shop that specializes in exotic Jamaican fruit flavors. This Garden/Great House is truly an idyllic treasure. Admission of about US$6 includes tour.Nice ambience, and a wonderful place to relax. You may sit in the grass, on benches or just amble around the premises. There are coffee shops, icecream parlours, pastry shops and fine restaurants for your eating pleasure. There are little hideaways too for the kissing young couple! karen levy

Devon House is known for it's famous ice cream. It's a historic place where you can feel the ambiance of an old plantation. You can visit on a Sunday evening where all the locals & tourist come out to listen to nice music, dine & eat Devon House ice cream. With many original fruity flavors, it's the best ice cream on the island. It's a must try!
Devon House is a nice place to visit though I don't go there that often. It's pretty upscale and over-priced but you should check it out, especially it it's your first visit to Kingston.
It is quaint and scenic, when you enter the house, if is as if you are transported in time. They have kept everything in its original form and as such you get a true taste of history.
The Juice Bar in the corner of the courtyard of Devon House is fantastic. Fresh made smoothies, frappes and squeezed juices help quench your thirst on a hot Kingston day! The Ice-Cream shop is also delicious, lots to choose from and the servings are massive.
