Plan a day trip to this grand estate, former home of Jamaica's white witch, Annie Palmer. She practiced voodoo and had three husbands who all died under mysterious circumstances. Legend has it she was a beautiful seductress who dallied with the hired help. The guided tour includes exploration of the house with its 18th-century decor and antiques. The tour ends with a visit to the dungeon, which has been transformed into a tavern. Walk the well-manicured gardens and see the palm trees beneath which Annie's three husbands are said to be buried.Open Hours
Mo to Su from 09:00 AM to 06:00 PMI loved hearing about the history of Rose Hall. Its like the plantation has so many secrets and so much history that it has a life of its own. I felt it as soon as I stepped onto its grounds. Its mystery is alive and waiting to be exposed. It was the best part of my trip to Jamaica.
So one day me and my mom went to jamica. I was reading about the haunted house. I wanted to go so we went there the next day. When we walked inside i alerdy scared. But it was sooo much fun i loved it. I want everybody to go there before they die. But it was 20.00 per person. It was a good tour. But the bedroom was really SCARY!! Everybody will like it. I still have the chills. From it. It doesn't sound scary. But it is. I took a picture and there was a ghost or was there.......
I have not yet been to Rose Hall but I am staying in a Hotel down the road from there in November this year. I am looking forward to visiting the historic Hall. It sounds very interesting. Some of the family have been and they say it is a beautiful place. But i must admitt i am a little frightened !!
i liked every thing exept the yard. The yard is as awful as my dogs kettle and he is a dog not a human.I like the bathroom,it made me feel like home.
The tour is a great history of Rose Hall
$20.00 per person, even children, for a tour. Need I say more? No house is worth that much to see it. It's not even the same house as Annie Palmer lived in, that house burned down. This is it rebuilt. Give me a break.
we have been to jamaica three times. we did not take pictures of a ghost of feel a ghost in the house, but it was amazing. the house was awesome and to think back to those old times is great. the openness of the great tall home and the view of the ocean. the image of the prison cells in the basement. our guide also gave a wonderful rendition of a johnny cash song. of all the pushy places to go in jamaica this is not one of them.
I visited Rose Hall in January 2007. Beautiful place with wild and amazing stores of the White Which of Jamaica, Annie Palmer. Although i too am psychic, I found Rose Hall to be an amazingly beautiful and peaceful place with no signs at all of "evil" energy. As I went through the tour, and heard all the stories of Annie, I new that there was no "evil" energy at Rose Hall. I took multiple photos but I was interested in the restoration and antiques. When I got back to the Ritz, I downloaded my photos so I could see them better. I never expected to find a pix of a face on the headboard of "Annie's" bedroom...nothing surprised me more! I studied the photo (as have others) and noted the clear details, facial features, hair, etc of a woman laughing. The "ghost" of Rose Hall is NOT Annie! Ita the jublient ROSE..delighted at having her magnificent house restored to glory and more than willing to play a few jokes on everyone to keep her house in order!
good food, service, and amenities. Totally loved this place! Water park an excellent amenity. been to a lot of resorts, this one had the most friendly personel I have ever met!
We toured Rose Hall and found it just beautiful. It was like stepping back in time. The mahogany wood work in the house is amazing. The view of Montega Bay out of the front windows of the home was spectacular. Our guide was excellent and explained the story behind this home in detail. We even got to see where Annie Palmer was buried. While we were in Annie's bedroom, one window began to shake. Was this Annie's ghost? I will return some day and enjoy this wonderful plantation again.
