Enduringly popular, Da Pietro is a great place for a romantic meal or a party with friends. The restaurant is housed in a classic underground cellar which you reach by first passing a collection of empty wine bottles, samples of pasta and other Italian paraphernalia. Once you get down the stairs, you will find several atmospheric rooms, all with vaulted ceilings and a wonderful sense of authenticity. The menu consists of popular, traditional Italian food and all the dishes are hearty and well made. The salads are tasty and there are many pasta and pizza dishes. Starters are also available. One dish that is a must (for those not averse to the wonders of spinach) is a dark green spinach soup. It's heavily laced with garlic and absolutely delicious.
