Overview

Pickles from Kyoto are famous throughout Japan as they make for excellent gifts and souvenirs by recapturing the taste of old Kyoto. They are also a very healthy food to boot. Situated right on the corner of two of Kyoto's busiest streets, Daiyasu sells a variety of vegetables including daikon radish, red cabbage as well as plums (umeboshi) all pickled and vacuum sealed for freshness. The pickles are often displayed in distinctive wooden barrels.
