The brainchild of Malaysia's Prime Minister, this prominent, 19—acre landmark is major attraction to visitors disembarking at Kuah Jetty. The centerpiece of the site is a huge and splendid statue of the reddish brown eagle after which Langkawi is named. According to local folklore "Kawi" in old Malay means reddish-brown eagle and "Lang" is the shortened term for helang (eagle). Hence Langkawi is known as the “Eagle State” The tranquility and soft, cool sea breezes make this picturesque spot a great place for leisurely strolls or a romantic dinner in one of the nearby restaurants.An icon of Langkawi. A gigantic, very realistic looking Eagle. This is actually a replica of Brahmini Kite. The type of fish eating eagle found in Langkawi abundantly. The world Langkawi came from this word. Lang means Eagle Kawi means redish brown colour. Lots of Bollywood movies movies were shot here. The night is a better time this place.
dataran lang has nothing except a huge statue of an eagle and a beautiful view of the sea. that is more than enough for a picture perfect right!
this area has the big eagle statue which is a langkawi sympol cause this island also called the eagle island the staue is very big and huge with wondurfull coloures near it u will find other intersted places to go like taman lagenda park and langkawi fair mall
It was a lovely experience, had such a great time,,,would recommend to people... lovely! Loved the food and stuff, staff very nice people. i like the view and the locals very helpful. although,,, i dunno.
