Overview
Set on 6.2 acres of land on the superbly landscaped beachfront of Pantai Cenang, Underwater World is one of the largest marine and freshwater aquaria in Asia. It features over 5,000 varieties of fish and other exhibits from 500 species displayed in over 100 tanks. Highlights include the gigantic hexagonal tank and walkâthrough tunnel tank containing six million litres of sea water. Here you can observe sharks, stingrays, huge turtles and other sea creatures swim by, separated from you only by the laminated clear glass walls of the tunnel.Open Hours
Mo to Su from 10:00 AM to 06:00 PMMost of the big fishes here had died. Very poorly managed place. Cost about US$13 to get in. But needs to have a little more stuffs to see. I strongly discourage anyone from wasting your money here and breaking your heart here. Try Aquaria in KLCC. Top notch!
Nothing big for me and I've seen it all before. I suppose its good on Langkawi because there isn't actually much to do on the island.
There are many aquatic animals in this place, even greater than Aquaria in KL.And is a place for your research(if you are a student). It's busy during the school holiday and public holiday.
this place is a perfect outing for family with kids. this place is quite big, so maybe you will spend 1 to 2 hours in here. although the ticket price a little expensive, but kids will enjoy it.
i lilike the fishes soooo cute!!. there is nothing i hate or that i couudn't remember ! there r so much variety of fishes my fav fish is dory&clownfish.plz come 2 the underwater world hope u all enjoy!!
The Underwater World in Langkawi is a must-see attraction in this idyllic island. Conveniently located near Pantai Cenang (where a string of hotels are nearby) it is a fun trip for the kids to learn about not only the fishes, but nature in general. Your journey begins with a walk into a flora and fauna enclave, there are flamingos and parrots amongst them. Next, you go through rows of aquarium, various fishes on display including piranhas! There is a tunnel where you can walk along with the fishes swimming above your heads, this will thrill the kids. The highlight of this place is the Penguins. You can watch them eat, walk that famous walk or just stand and stare. It's very cold where they are, only thing missing is the ice cap!
Nothing much to see, most of the fish or animal you can see anywhere easilly. It is too espensive for Malaysia RM28. This is a good place to visit if out there is very hot sun. The Free Tax shop next door is a ideal place to shop before leaving. The price is average lower then the free tax shop at Kuah town.
For me its a new experiance, for my wife it was one of the best things in Langkawi, therefore it depends on your liking and dislikings. there is only one special thing over there and that thing is there tunel acquarium, but you can find even a bigger one in Kuala Lumpur (Suria KLCC).
One of the best places we visited on our holiday to Malaysia. It is a bit pricey to get in but dont let this put you off a very worth while visit. REALLY! The set up is fantastic, informal and relaxed you feel as if you are on another planet the entire time you are in there. So many different animals, fish, reptiles etc to see. A great place for adults and kids alike. It is not to huge to be boring but not to small to be inadequate. You will need about 2 hours to take a leisurly wander around. Do not miss it if you have the chance to go.
Very good value for money, clean, good customer service
