Viva Las Vegasby Yahoo | 2008-08-09 08:06:58 |

My son was married in the Chapel of the Bells 3 years ago and unless the standard has gone down, we had a wonderful time. They took care of everything , and after the ceremony we were dropped off in Fremont Street for a great night out. Viva Chapel of the Bells I say.

Watch for Hidden Feesby Yahoo | 2008-06-11 22:31:26 |

The limo driver and the minister were nice, however, I found it kind of tacky that they shoved 2 envelopes in my face right after we were married saying the "recommended" tip was $40 for the limo driver and $40 for the minister, they also did this right in front of the minister and the driver. Also, I ended up paying about $200 more (not counting the $80 I laid out in tips) then they told me it would cost.

As noted not every one shares the same expierience. But When I went to chapel of the bells it was as close to perfect as you can get. Yes the cars are older models but they were well kept and clean. And the air did work. I'm not sure what a/c can keep up with 110 degrees and a car full of people. The driver was professional. The chapel was just what we imagined after seeing the movies. I came to Las Vegas to have a "vegas" wedding and that's what I had. I nice older lady did the wedding and said just the right thing. The chapel has an eloquent mini piano in it that just made it great. They picked us up at 1:10 and had us back to the hotel by 2:30. You can't ask for anything more. The bill was a little more than we expected, but still well worth what we got. I highly recommend the chapel for something quick and conveniant.

WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENTby Yahoo | 2008-01-17 00:34:03 |

Pros: -Got married -Cute Chapel once you got inside the facility Cons: The limo that came to pick up my fiancé and me was very dated and looked like the family car for a funeral. Not only was the limo dated but it was also 30 minutes late. I was told that I would have someone to assist me in getting ready and that a dressing room would be available, but upon my arrival to the chapel I found there was not anyone to assist me and I was informed that I would have to get dressed in the bathroom of the chapel. Be advised...ask for itemized receipt up front!! We were charged for a cassette recording of the wedding that we did not ask for and then when we requested an itemize receipt the Chapel refused to send us one. When I asked to speak with a manager or someone that could address my concerns I was told that it was company policy not to give out this information and that I could leave my name and number and someone would call me back. After the ceremony we was asked to leave a $40 tip for the minister and a $40 tip for limo driver (did not feel services were worth a $40 tip) When we refused to tip the full amonuts the chapel representative tried to call us out in front of the minister and the limo driver. I did not find the staff helpful or friendly. I would not recommend this chapel under no circumstances!!!!!

If I only knewby Yahoo | 2008-01-15 23:29:32 |

Pro: The minister Took us to the court house Con: Limo Service Unfulfilled promises Let me start with the limo coming to pick us up and not allowing alcohol or smoking in the limo and the driving being rude when we asked about it. Then when we found out the chapel itself was not visually appealing in the least on the exterior although, the room itself that the ceremony was preformed in was cute. We had forgot our cameras so we asked the man at the front desk if we could run across the street and get a camera and he said no but thank god the minister a sweet older woman said she didn't mind waiting and even allowed my sister to stand on next to her to get better pictures. Then we go to pay and the total was $220 after being quoted $165 over the phone because they made a cassette tape of the service and charged us $33 dollars for it (we never asked for it). As per the ad in the yellow pages it says to mention the ad and the man at the front said the regular marriage certificate from the court house was it and we didn't get the champagne (non-alcoholic) either. On top of everything the ad in the yellow pages say the tip for the minister was included in the price...WRONG...they had the nerve to give us two envelopes one marked minister and one marked limo driver to give a tip in, stamping on the front of them suggested gratuity $40. Why would I give a $40 gratuity to a driver that was rude, hit the curb and made a u-turn on las vegas blvd that he had to back up then continue forward again. For a place that the advertised price is $165 how can you ask for a total gratuity of $80? Over all if I knew that this would be how my wedding would go I would've just paid to do it in MGM where I stayed at.

Make sure you have a paper contractby Yahoo | 2007-09-02 20:35:18 |

Everything that was stated and promised over the phone did not happen. Please be very aware and get a written contract before you place any money in the hands of this chapel, then you may not be disappointed. We felt very let down by our experience and have terrible wedding pictures to prove it. "Photographs" mean a roll of undeveloped film that turned out to be horrible. Beware! I do not wish that experince on anyone.

loved the chapel of bellsby Yahoo | 2007-08-13 15:23:26 |

it was the best deal in vegas and i loved the chapel. The people there were very friendly i stayed at the casino accross the street so it was very easy to just walk accross the street with the whole family.

Some things you cannot do overby Yahoo | 2007-06-24 03:39:20 |

For instance your wedding day..... As a mother I had hoped that my daughters wedding would be a charming and memorable experience. We started with a limo ride that was so hot I was convinced that my seventy year old mother was going to be ill from the heat and secretly glad my 92 year old step father could not attend. I thought that our troubles would be over when we got to "the famous chapel of the bells". I was quite mistaken as the air conditioning at the chapel was not working right and no one had bothered to tell us. The place was much in need of tlc including the formerly green carpeting and a vague musty smell one does not expect to smell in the desert. As a mother and a former bride all I wanted was a sweet experience for my beautiful daughter...she did not get it. So my advice is to be like a carpenter measure twice and cut once because you cannot do a wedding over.

OH,where do I startby Yahoo | 2007-06-24 03:14:50 |

Recently my wife & I attended her daughters wedding at chapel of the bells. 1. The limo ride The limo driver needed a clean shirt more anti-perspirant and a better attitude, but then again if I had to drive a limo with inadequate air conditioning(visualize the sweat box scene from cool hand luke) through neighborhoods in vast need of urban renewal my attitude might suffer also. 2.The Chapel The air conditioning at the chapel was broken and fixed as we arrived(man in work uniform walking through lobby with ladder as we entered). A courtesy call to notify us that the a-c was down would be nice as they did call to confirm shortly before the limo arrived. Also vastly in need of new carpeting. 3.The minister The minister was a dear old lady with a very faint voice totally unsuited to public speaking. 4. The location If you like the idea that your wedding occurred in building that shares space with a pepto-bismol pink motel that appears to be one step above a rent by the hour facility then this is the place for you. Famous? I won't forget it and neither will my wife who almost fainted from the heat and disappointment!

More Than Expectedby Yahoo | 2007-04-24 17:24:18 |

Much more than we had expected from reviews in travel magazines and books. Beautiful, warm, classy and included everyhting including a trip to the license bureau. Allowed more guests than we had anticipated at no charge and allowed us to take our own pictures. The minister is great! And lots of Vegas Glitz with the pink stucco and neon lights!
