Overview
Encompassing Fremont Street in the center of downtown Las Vegas is a light and musical show like none other in the world. A permanent canopy has been constructed to cover the casino-lined street with two million lights and a state-of-the-art sound system. This USD70 million attraction provides shows in the evening hours and is a popular area for filming motion picture scenes. There is no charge for entrance except for their New Year's Eve Street Bash. The special shows projected on the canopy ceiling last for approximately seven minutes.Open Hours
Mo to Su from 12:00 AM to 12:00 AMI'm still in awe 6 months later. Going again in February when it's cooler. It was 103 when we arrived end of August for 4 days and then it got hotter! Going for 5 days this time as there's too much too see in just a few days. More trips planned already.
Went to Fremont Street in December 2008. This was my first time downtown since 2001 and was impressed by the improvements (except for some homeless) things were much cleaner with kind of a carnival feeling. Worth checking out, but would still much rather stay on the strip.
This was an awesome experience. I enjoyed it. Recommend this to everyone who wish to go there.
We came to the Freemont Street Experience to see what it was all about, and we had a show booked at the Plaza Hotel and Casino, which was VERY NICE, but other than that, there is NOTHING at all I can say that is nice about this experience. It is an infest with drunks, and dreads, pick pockets, and its just a real dirty place. we are all very sorry we visited this area
The light show is not the main attraction here. It's okay, but it's a been there done that sort of thing. The atmosphere and people watching is not to be missed. Stay there, and right outside you hotel there is always something going on, live music and shows, cheap food and drink, classic old style gambling. The strip is okay, but it seems like endless walking and huge crowds everywhere. Freemont is right outside your door when you stay there. Try it, You'll like it!!! Not for the Hoity Toity Crowd, they shoud stay on the strip and buy those $20.00 drinks.
I don't understand how Fremont St. is so much better. The mega display isn't all that awe aspiring, especially when most of it's used to promote. In addition, I'm not impressed with the screen because the huge posts really detracted from the entire experience. I'm sure the casinos offer a better deal and gambling returns, but that's just not enough for me, at least. I also never heard of any good eats in downtown Vegas. At least all the places I've tried have been subpar.
We(husband) and I loved everything about it and had a great time. We are going back in a few days and friends of ours are coming with us this time. It is the first time in Vegas for them! We stayed at the Golden Nugget and are staying again on this visit. We visited every casino on Fremont Street and had more fun at these than the casinos on the strip. The meals that we had at the Nugget were wonderful as well as the rooms. We cannot wait to get there. Let the fun begin!!!!!!!!
Very cool LED show! Very inexpensive. Wish we started out here in Old Vegas first. Only spent our last few hours here unfortunately. Another visitor who was there for poker tourneys said she stayed at The Golden Nugget & it was no frills but the cleanest hotel she's ever been in. For fist time Vegas visitors, Freemont St is not that far at all from the Strip especially if you get a $5 day pass for the Deuce. Must use the Deuce, don't bother renting a car unless you are going to Grand Canyon. Freemont St was more our style & we will next time go on the Haunted Vegas Tour or the Gangster Tour. I love the Old Vegas but didn't have time. Oh, much cooler temps here than on the Strip.
I luved this because its such an experiance and the food there is awesome to! I cannt wait to go back! just dress warmly!!! :)
Really like Fremont Street, unlike anywhere else. Total sensory overload. My husband and family enjoy being there and not having to worry about the high expenses of the Strip.
