My husband and I got married at Silver Bell also. We chose this Chapel because we wanted to get married on March 2, 2001, at midnight. We had the same little old and great pictures and a short video of the vowes. I wish we'd bought a couple of t-shirts or something.. because when we went back 6 months later (we were in LV during 9-11) it was already gone-sadly.
This year will mark our 25th Wedding Anniversary! We are planning to spend a few days in Las Vegas in August to walk down memory lane. When did the chapel burn down? Is there a new one at this location? It was a great experience very private to exchange personal vows to each other.........Sooooooo sad that it is no more. But obviously there are thousands of people who had come to this Chapel to do as we did. Thus, the building still lives on in memories. I recall dressing in a long skinny room with mirors. What next? Thank you Maxine Dowell for being with us at our joyous occassion!
My husband andI I were married at the Silver Bell Wedding Chapel in September of 1969. We went back for our 30th anniversary in September of 1999, and a staff member took our picture in the same spot where we were married. This September we will celebrate 40 years. I'm sad that it burned down. My daughter was considering the possibility of being married there in November. Everyone was great to us both times we were there.
We loved the Chapel, but we can't remember to much. In our pictures we look very happy. We will visit this month of May, 2009. We plan on staying at the El Cortez the same place we were when I propsed to my Husband and he said yes. We were married on June 23, 1973. He is now 71 and I'm 66. At that time we did not have much so it was very affordable. Also my cousin and her boyfriend were married at the same time.
I married my lovely husband at Silver Bells in May 1998, just the two of us, we loved our service and we have just celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary.
My husband and I were married at Silver Bells Wedding Chapel on Nov 29, 1989.....and what a day that was !!! We flew from Texas that morning and started drinking before noon.....by the time we got married at 10p that night, we were pretty happy !!! Laughed all the way through the ceremony by a sweet minister. It was like getting married at your Grandmas house - they treated us like family !!! Great Memories ! Now almost 20 years later, we're still going strong, but sad the Little Chapel isn't.... we'd planned to renew our vows there in 2009 ! Luckily we have great photos and memories ! Jerry & Sabrina
We traveled to Las Vegas on a shoestring. My husband proposed to me at 10PM at the WInchells Donut Shop (Now gone). We went and got our license and by 11PM we were married at The Silver Bells Wedding Chapel. Our weddingfoto (not in wedding attire) is on our bookshelf- the date 12/04/1976!! He is my mate for life!!
Didn't have much to spend for the wedding so I called to see what it would cost and so we saved enough to go to Vegas and got married. Wedding was quick, no pictures, no video, put a nice song playing during the 2 and 1/2 to 3min wedding. Everything was fine until.....we were ask to donate to the minister (which I expected to do) but......the word donate? hummmm donate means give what you can NOT read a flippin note in an envelope from the minister to how much he WANTS. So some way they tried to get more $$$ out of us. Of course it didn't happen...all and all they let us go without paying minister what he really wanted and we still left married. 10 years later, now that Silver bell is no more. All there is is a memory.
My ex husband and I were two kids in love and he was in the Marines. We drove from 29 Palms, CA one evening on April 29, 2001 and Silver Bell Wedding Chapel was our choice. Our minister was this old lady they had to get out of bed and all that, but the staff was very friendly and made us feel very welcome. We didn't do the whole package thing, we just wanted to get married. The guy took our pics outside with our own camera and all that. It was very sweet. I can't believe that it burned down!
My husband and I were married in Nov. of 2000 at the Silver Bells wedding chapel. We had a Great wedding pics. turned out good. I am sad it burnt down we wanted to renew our vows in 2010
