A visit to Leeds would not be complete without a slap-up meal at the original Harry Ramsden's. Branches of this leading fish restaurant can be found throughout the world but nothing beats a trip to where it all began. Sadly, the exterior has lost much of its old-fashioned charm after its recent make-over. Still the quality of the fish and chips is as superb as ever and continues to attract locals and coachloads of tourists. If you've a minute to spare walk around to the rear of the restaurant where you can see the hut where Harry first cranked up his fryer.
