Overview
Founded in the mid-20th century, the Instituto Riva Agüero was named in honor of the Lima philanthropist José de la Riva Agüero. The museum, comprising seven rooms, belongs to the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Peru and specializes in popular art. There are several permanent exhibitions corresponding to different periods of Peruvian art as well as a number of temporary exhibitions on popular culture and folklore.
