Larcomar is a very unique and beautiful place. You can sit at the cafes looking at the Pacific Ocean all year round, never concerned that it will rain. It never rains there. The temperature is always pleasant, never too hot or too cold. The shops and restaurants are charming. The stores sell Peruvian artesanias, handcrafted by local artist. I have traveled all over the USA and I have never seen a place that compares to the feeling and the beauty of Miraflores, in Lima, Peru. To say that it is Americanized is an insult to this lovely place. We do not own every thing that is modern. There are modern things all over the world. we didn't invent every thing. That is the ugly American surfacing. Please, get smart and learn about other cultures. I will go back over and over because it is a wonderful friendly place.
clean safe nice stores, close hike to beach, miraflores area! been 2 times, would go back a 3rd time great pisco sours at bar located near luckystrike g
I loved Larcomar. It is a great example of metropolitan Lima. The shops are a little expensive, but the food is great and it's a really cool place to hang out. In just one year they have done so much with it. I wanted to visit the disco but never got the chance. One thing I love about it is the laid-back atmosphere and how safe it is. Perfect view of the ocean.
It has everything you can imagine for a shopping centre and even more with the beautiful view of the beach. The atmosphere is great and there is always something new to do, to visit or to eat. The shops are excellent, you can find everything there.
The Peruvian people are absolutely the best!! They go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. They are the happiest people I have had the chance to meet. I want to go back right now!!! Miraflores is a Paradise. Tasty Restaurant, Jesus Maria is a must!!!!! Great ambience and hopsitality..........Thank you Johnny Rea!!!! The weather is spectatular. Taxis are crazy! I do not know of a word to describe Machipiccu. It was the most incredible place I have traveled. Fantasy comes to my mind. Hope to see again soon.
i loved the maps of the plaza. great stores!!!!!!!!!! great food!!! just a great place. 10 thumbs up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! if you want to shop for huors thi sis th eplace to go!!! the stores hav anything you'll ever need!
Maybe I missed something, but it´s tiny!! The shoppingmall in my city of 40.000 is bigger. The atmosphere is ok, just a modern mall with a bayside view, but i was expecting more of the ´great´ Larcomar shoppingcentre! It´s basically 10 fastfood restaurants, a theater, a bowlingalley and about 15 shops not bigger than my closet. But as I said, maybe I missed something.....
Ok...Larcomar is so not "americanized" at all...y do americans always think that's is all about them or tryign to be like them...well is not like that at all...I was born in Peru and i love it there, but now i live in indiana so it's different, but when i was there i always went to Larcomar its an awesome place to hang out w/ friends and have fun...but is NOT americanized...is just that is not always gonna be all the cultural stuff and inca stuff...Lima is the palce where ppl jsut have fun...and is just a normal "centro comercial" like any other...so americans just need to get over themselfs and stop thinking that every country wants to be like them...
I think it's arrogant to label every place that is clean and well-lit as "Americanized." Larcomar is a great place to hang out and see the people and the Pacific Ocean. It is definitely modern and nice. Great shops, great people watching. The reviewer was right who said most visitors are Peruvian. Peru is about a range of experiences. Go to Larcomar and see the metropolitan side of Peru, then take a bus to Cajamarca and take pictures of the campesinos and their adobe houses. Don't believe the negative review. Peru is not all about abject poverty, and it's stupid to want it that one-dimensional. There are areas where you can see a very simple life, but there are plenty of people here with more money than you, and Larcomar is one of the places they have built.
Although I did kind of think that Larcomar is Americanized, its not like all of Lima is like that. Not every peruvian is able to leave the country to see another so I think it is nice for them to be able to see how we, as North Americans live, like my aunt for example. Its a nice place to go if you want to take your family for a walk and see some breathtaking views of the pacific below. However if you go to Lima and only stay in that area, you should be ashamed of yourself. That city alone offers so much beauty, and diversity. There is nothing about Peru I dont like accept for the fact that I'm not there all the time. It is worth seeing, I can't lie...
