Overview

Buckingham Palace has been the official abode of British royalty since 1837. The forecourt is the setting for one of London's most popular tourist events: The Changing of the Guard. The Mews are working stables, where you can see the Queen's horses and state carriages. The Buckingham Palace state rooms are only open during certain days in August and September. Just outside the front of the palace, you can enjoy the Queen Victoria Memorial Gardens and the Victoria Memorial, a striking and impressive sculpture facing the Mall. The visiting hours vary seasonally.

pretty goodby Yahoo | 2008-02-23 19:57:04 |

it was good but not great. I went in january 08 so the guards were wearing gray uniforms and not red. I think the best time to go is during the summer. you also need to make enough time to go because it was our last day when I saw it so we were kinda of in a rush and not so patient to see the changing of the which is worth seeing

Nice place to visit would not want to live there.by Yahoo | 2007-09-12 21:39:44 |

Buckingham Palace was very interesting. I was there in September and able to tour the palace. I understand the Queen does not like staying there at all. While it was interesting to see all the old english furniture and picture and things, I can understand why she does not like living there. Very stiff but certainly worth the visit. Very well orgainized also with the flow of people. The only drawback was..after leaving the palace we never thought we would get back to the street. A very, very long walk through the grounds.

We came here as part of a tour of London during the changing of the guard. It was fun. It was worth the time. I would recommend it.

Good but not Greatby Yahoo | 2007-06-04 18:07:06 |

Too many persons in front of the palace and i think that you could find a person of nationality from Europe among them. The architecture was great and the queen was at home, but it was pity the guards didn't change that day

Surprisingly AWESOME !!by Yahoo | 2006-12-02 09:36:22 |

We happened to be in London at the right time, and my daughter and I thought we should see this.... just to see it. But, it was absolutely awesome. There is no way anyone could convey how beautiful this place is.... huge masterpieces by famous artists like Rembrandt adorn the walls. The furniture is magnificent. The tour was much longer than I expected, and we saw many, many rooms! I was expecting to be shown through a few rooms and then politely ushered out to make room for the next tour. Afterwards, we were allowed to wander for about a mile through the grounds on a path which eventually led back to a main street. Highly recommended tour.... a lot to see for the small price you pay !!

Royal splendour at its bestby Yahoo | 2006-11-16 17:35:50 |

Buckingham Palace is a must-see for any visitor to London. The state-rooms are an amazing sight to behold. While the prices are rather expensive, it is definitely worth your time.
