Overview
Known as both the London Eye and the Millennium Wheel, this huge 450-foot ferris wheel on the South Bank gives a fabulous bird's eye view of London, if your stomach is strong enough. Its inception in the beginning of 2000 honoured the Millenium; and the spectacular views stretch for 25 miles on a clear day to include views of Windsor and Tunbridge Wells. Up to 25 people can fit in each of the wheel's "capsules." The wheel turns surprisingly slowly-it takes thirty minutes to go round, so there's plenty of time to spot landmarks and take photos. Hours vary by season: October-May, Daily 10a-8p; June, Daily 10a-9p; July-August, Daily 10a-9:30p; September, Daily 10a-9p.well i would say that it was ok but it wouldn't be the first place i would go the next time i go back. it was a great sightseeing view though. you could basicaly see everything on it!! it was awsome!
Loads of fun! Great sightseeing, good for family visiting. :-)
It was enjoyable but not worth 15 pound they seriously make their money. You see a lot like westminster etc. however I just thought what a rip off for the tourists we had to wait for longer than expected because soon sad person was getting married. i might have seemed like a good idea at the time but i bet they will look back and think what was the point
Decided to go on the London eye and it was OK. it costs £15 per adult for 30 mins. you can buy a map for £3 so you know what you are looking at! there were no queues and we walked ( jumped) straight on. It's nice to say we have done it but would probably have been better had we gone at night. Two of our party felt a bit queezy for the entire journey and having to jump on and off while it was moving was a little daunting I would recommend people to go if they can spare £15, otherwise spend it on the bus tour. i would imagine it is quite expensive for a family.
While being a little on the expensive side it certainly was a real thrill. The day we chose was fantastic and the view unbeleiveable and Credit must be given to those who designed it. they even gave discount for an Australian pensioner card .
I have nothing to dilike about this place. It was a nice sunny day when I went there. That was lucky. You can see almost all of London. It was worth the 10 minute wait. You can't feel it move. It was a very long fun ride. I give it a 10 out of 10!
My family took a trip on the Millennium Wheel and we had a very good time. This will give you a good view of London.
Definitely the best ticket in town to see all of London from high above. Sometimes it can be a wait to get on, but you’ll not be disappointed. Its has the perfect view without any obstructions.
I liked it because u could see alll the sight seeing in London and it was also a beautiful sight and I also enjoyed the idea of going round in the London Eye because it can be so much fun!!
This is fun. About 35 minutes to go around. Great way to see the house of parliament, Big ben and he Thames. Don't go if it is really hot outside (i.e. mid-day) as it will be very hotter in the "bubble". Consider early morning or at dawn.
