Overview

Coronet Pub is quite an anomaly, considering the surrounding area and its proximity to the Beverly Center. Located next to the Coronet Theater, its your basic dive, only a really popular one. Nearly every night draws a crowd from all parts of town, including theatergoers from next door. There's a strip club right across the street, which doesn't serve alcohol, so some young men travel back and forth during the night. Most know, however, that once you get a table here, it's best to hold on to it.

Not for everyoneby Yahoo | 2005-03-28 10:56:20 |

Like the previous review said, this place is usually SRO on weekends. It is a local pub. The locals who go there drink a lot and focus more on their drinks than being friendly to outsiders. Nonlocals have to leave at close but locals don't which isn't fair. The music is cheesy and too loud and there is always a urine-like smell in the back half which is weird. Not a good place for conversation. Really strong drinks with cheap well mixes. Service is okay but the bartenders really only pay attention if you are a celebrity, a local or a cute girl, every one else waits forever while they flirt and drink with the customers. If you want to just get ugly, this is the place to go.

Intimate and dark, exactly what you expect of a pub. Standing room only in this tiny bar on a crowded evening. Great drinks, friendly bartenders. Good place to have a pre/apres show drink.
