Overview

Tsunami Coffee House is one of those oh-so-Silverlake hangouts, and although it has only been around since the mid 1990s, it has become a Sunset Junction fixture where Sunset intersects at Sanborn Street. The place is dark and funky with psychedelic walls, but the vibe is cool and attracts a cross-generational clientele. Open Mic Wednesday's are very popular, and the creative amongst you can do their thing, whether it be poetry, music or comedy. All sign-ups must be completed by 7:45p. There are about 12 blends of coffee, which are all flavorful and run the gamut from robust to mild. It also serves sandwiches and pastries.

I left my heart at Tsunami and its Open Mike show. The clientelle is experimental with appearance. It is an agreable place to do some sketches or write your poetry/journal. There has been entertainment from some of the most charming people from Japan to Germany. Even if they were not as talented as they thought you couldn't help but appreciate their effort and gleen something of their country. Pammy Sue(nammi) is an amazing person! Goddess is not aclaim high enough. No matter her disposition, She gathers her strength and gumption and gets the Wednesday evening show goin' awn.
