Mo to Sa from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM, Su from 10:00 AM to 09:00 PMI visited Brooks two years ago and had a horrible experiance. I wrote a review, and wrote the buissness of completly. I recently went back to L.A for buissness and found myself with a stiff body from a long plane flight. Becasue of Brooks lcation to my hotel ( The Roadway Inn on Beverly Bl, across from CBS ) and their open scedual, I booked an appointment out of simple desperation. I was shocked by the renevations and the highly noticable improvment in the staff. I enjoyed the best massage of my life, with a careing and educated therapist, then enjoyed a steam unlike no other! The place was clean, the hospitality was world class and they had all the soft fluffy towels you can imagine. The perfect touch was the bowl of chocolate in my room and the trendy coffee shop next door. (Head's up for wierless lap top carriers - they get free wi-fi as well!) The place has embraced it "vintage hollywood" feel, and is located near the farmers market and beverly center. Go to Brooks, you wond be disapointed.
They were so nice and considerate of my condition. I merely had a headache that wouldn't go away for three days so I was worried a massage might not do the trick. I knew it would help but the woman who massaged me completely took care of the problem spots. I highly recommend this business. The facilities are impeccable and I felt no pressure to hurry up and leave after my massage was finished. I fully intend to go back and tell all my friends.
I HAVE LIVED IN LA FOR TEN YEARS AND HAVE GOTTEM MASSAGES FROM MANY ESTABLISHMENTS; RANGING FROM THAI TO LUXURY. BROOKS IS BY FAR THE BEST MASSAGE SPA IN ALL OF LA!!!!! MAYBE THE COUNTRY....
I would not recommend this place to others. You can get a more client- centered treatment for the same or less money and less time in west los angeles. My biggest complaints are that I scheduled a 90 minute massage and I was given a 60 minute massage, during which the therapist answered her cell phone. Then they realized that I had scheudled 90 minutes after I got out of the shower. They were very unwilling to give me a similar discount for the 60 minute work and they were just not nice during this discussion, telling me I should just "get back on the table". I guess that does not sound that bad, but it was the way that they were not willing to even be kind to me when their service was less than adequate. It is very disruptive to have your massage cut in half and it was not a relaxing experience overall. It was sort of stressful. The massage work was fine, although the table had a metal edge that cut into my chin. The room was sort of cold. My body feels better but other places are much kinder to the spirit! I recommend that you try the Massage Therapy Center on Sawtelle, where the amenities and facility are nicer and the staff is very kind. I will certainly not go back to Brooks, even though I have heard good things and had friends recommend it.
I loved this place, i heard that they were a little old but when i got there i saw that they had renovated and it was just right for me. they let you do your own thing and aren't on your back pressuring you to buy stuff. the massage was OUT OF THIS WORLD, i've had good massages before, but holy *bleep*, these people actually care about you and want to fix you, and that i never experienced before, they treated me like family right from the start. as for people saying it wasn't clean, i didnt have single problem, there was always a girl walking up and down cleaning and making sure everything was tidy and stocked.the steam was AMAZING and the sauna was hotter than anyother i have ever been in. The only down side was the faint noise of people thru the walls mumbling. long story short, i will definetly go back.
I've been going here for years. There are no "typical" people or features here. It's all about a great massage in a relaxed atmosphere. Over the years I've had my favourite people to request. Andre is FANTASTIC!!!!!!
The place is small, clean and simple. Im not much of a sauna fan but i loved their steam room. Also you get a full sixty minute massage and you dont have to pay extra for deep tissue. If you like a firm massage this is your place.
The best thing about Brooks Massage Therapy was the free bottle of Dasani water. I was extremely dissapointed and I recommend that the company offer a money back guarantee policy. This was my first visit and definitely my last.
This was the worst massage that I have ever had. The girl who gave me a massage did a horrible job. I had to tell her several times that she was hurting me. The place was old and in desperate need of an interior makeover. I was turned off by the sauna room which smelled like sweat. The changing rooms were very small and uncomfortable. To to it off, the cd skipped several times making my overall experience of Brooks Massage Therapy poor and not worth the time or money.
I regularly drive 30 miles to get massages at Brooks. What I love about Brooks is that the focus is on the massages -- clean atmosphere, no pretenses and no spa drama. The therapists at Brooks are professional and akilled, and the receptionists are very accomodating. If you're looking for an intense and theraputic deep tissue massage, Umberto and Lisa are especially good.
