I LOOOOOVED IT It is one of the most FUN 9 holes executive length courses I have played because you will use all the clubs, you can create different strategies on the par 4s (driver? 3 wood? etc) and feel like a "real one" even if you are a beginner golfer. On the dog left #5 a huge bunker is in the middle of the fairway on a perfect 220/250 carry landing area... what to do?...is up to you! #6 is calling your big boy-driver out of the bag as the Mermaids with Ulysses, but if you don't hit it straight you are on the rocks! Put on some wax earplugs like the ancient hero and use your fairway/utility... If you can work the ball left to right with a nice fade...dog leg #8 is your hole. You have a power draw? #2 will allow you to bomb it with no to much trouble The scenery is beautiful, very green and shady for Los Angeles standards; the course condition is good in the fairways...so so on the greens. Prize is SUPER Right. I played there only once and I can't wait to go back to LA and have another round.

Each hole is unique, and several are quite scenic, with views of downtown or Grifith Observatory in the distance. Some days you get a free "concert" when whomever is playing the Greek Theatre that night does their sound check. (The Greek is just across the street). The hamburgers in the snack bar are surprisingly good, and many of the holes are quite expansive, allowing you to really go for any power game you might have (or want to develop). Be sure to listen on warm days for rattlesnakes rattling away in a few places in the brush off to the sides. Deer frequently are seen on the fairways, and don't worry about the coyotes--They won't howl when you make a bad shot!

I really like Roosevelt Golf Course, it's challenging, hilly & fun to play, great excersise going up & down the hills, well kept course & easy access to it.

this course has a good solid layout with a lot of doglegs. the greens are not in very good shape due to some weed problems either on the grass or with the greens keepers. but other than that it is a fun course to play with a couple of buddys for a few skins or what have you.
