Considered the last great railroad station in the nation, built in 1939, is one of the major transportation hubs for Southern California. Trains from Metrolink and Amtrak, and buses from Metro Bus Lines, Antelope Valley Transit Authority Line, Foothill Transit Lines and Santa Monica Big Blue Bus Lines depart from this place. I was floored by the beauty of Union Station, the tiled floors and the wonderful waiting room, the service, the beautiful patio. I thought most downtown train stations were dirty and grim. LA's is a gorgeous gateway to a city.

Cool to see the history of LA. And what was that local area called? The original town square of LA nearbye? You can only take so much of Hollywood.
