Overview
Many people visit this theater not to see first-run motion pictures, but to gaze at the famous hand and footprints outside. It's a quintessential L.A. tourist ritual and well worth the trip. The theater itself is one of the oldest and largest in town. The screen is massive and the sound is top-notch. Enter the Pagoda-like structure of this theater with dragons and lions welcoming you into the premises. Check out the exotic interiors and revel in the glory of days gone by. Mann's has the distinction of being the venue for the world premier of the much-loved movie The Wizard of Oz, and has also hosted the Academy Awards. Featured in TV shows and movies, it has been an integral part of Hollywood. Outside you will find various tour guides and kitschy souvenirs. There is no charge to wander around the open-air patio that contains the famous hand-prints.This is a must see spot in Los Angeles, plenty of things to do. All the charactors on the street and the stars on hollywood blvd. Don't forget about Kodai theatre right next door. If you are new in town, make sure to try Cefiore Frozen Yogurt across teh street. This is one of the best yogurt store around town.
It was beatiful - had a great time! It is right next door to the Kodak Theater. There is a lot to do in the area.
Hanging around outside the theater is one of the best free experiences you can have in Hollywood. Get your photo taken with a Captain Jack Sparrow look-a-like for a few dollars! The impersonators generally don't pose for free. I got my photo taken with a Homer Simpson! If you can get through the crowd, take the time to put your hands or feet in a star's imprints. It may be corny, but that's why you came to Hollywood, right? We never ventured inside the theater because there was always so much going on outside! Hang out, have fun, and be nice. Offer to take photos for other tourists. They often will return the favor. ;)
What I did at Grauman's theatre was awsome my cat ate fishheads and milk and it was all over!I hated it I could hardly breathe but the cool TV in the floor was kickin'!
it was ethnic and intresting alot of nice people room surves was excellent my wife was also impressed and so where my kids hope to come back
Lots of crowds. Street performers down there posing as actors ... you have to pay to take their picture. Very hard to get good pictures due to the crowds. Cool to see ... probaly wont spent more than 20 minutes there.
The Chinese Theatre is a MUST see when in Hollywood,Ca. Park the car and walk along the 6800 and 6900 block of Hollywood Blvd. Lots of stars of famous celeberties along these blocks....the walk could run as long as a mile and this was the best, along with the Theatre.
i like the help and the movie but i didn't like the time arangements. It also have great histroy it also have some bad help.I visitede on sep 23 2003 for my b-day and i loved it.
Mann's Chinese Theatre is undoubtedly the Hollywood icon, graced by famous and legendary stars ever since Tinsel Town becomes synonymous with movie-making. Take a photo of yourself comparing the size of your hands and feet to the hands and foot prints of these stars (including Donald Duck) which were immortalized in the grounds outside the theatre. Then move on to the Kodak Theatre...
