Overview

This is a great place to stop during any drive on the Palos Verdes Peninsula. Highlights include a Victorian lighthouse, coin-operated telescopes, a whale-watching station and an amphitheater sometimes used for outdoor plays. Set on 37 acres, the park is set atop a cliff that provides great views of the Pacific Ocean and Catalina Island on a clear day. There are picnic tables and barbecue grills also.

Open Hours

      • Monday to Sunday from 06:00 AM to 10:00 PM

Best kept secret in San Pedro... Beauty on the cliffs!by Yahoo | 2008-05-02 02:22:19 |

Point Fermin Park for me has been a family tradition since before I was born. My parents found the simple beauty in this wonderful place, and shared it with their children over the years. It was always a favorite weekend destination that still to this day some 40 years later, we continue to visit each time we find ourselves in Los Angeles! This beautiful tree shaded, laid back historical park has held wonderful memories for all who visit. There is not one direction you can look and not find a beautiful panoramic view to take you back to a more simple time. The beauty of this enchanting cliffside park is forever renewing each time you visit. Overlooking the San Pedro and Long Beach Harbors, Long Beach Channels, Catalina Island and a host of other natural sites including the Korean Bell of Friendship, and the Point Fermin Light House, its beauty is free to all who wish to visit. This park is family friendly and peaceful to all who share a love for nature at its best! I find difficulty finding a fair comparison to match its beauty and functional uses. If I could give It 10 stars, I would! I LOVE this park!!!
