Overview

This house was formerly known as the Croix d'Or inn and was built in 1471 to cater to merchants who came to Lyon for the four annual trade fairs. The hotel was big enough to accommodate a large number of traders from the provinces and had stables for horses as well as warehouses where goods could be stored. The most spectacular part of the house is the large 3-story gallery which was added in the 16th century, especially the semi-circular arches on the ground floor that are supported by huge pillars. This mysterious and unusual museum houses the permanent collection of Dan Ohlmann's miniature art piece and also a few famous film sets in miniature. Check website for admission details.
