Overview

The capital's largest parkland area attracts thousands of madrileños during sunny weather. It's the closest some of them get to a day out in the country and a great picnic spot. As for entertainment, there's the Zoo Aquarium, an amusement park, a boating lake, and a cable car. You'll find some good restaurants here, and the trade center usually has some sort of exhibition going on. To get to the park, head down Cuesta San Vicente from Plaza de España and cross Puente del Rey.

Zoo/Aquarium was a fun placeby Yahoo | 2007-01-08 23:28:10 |

European zoo/aquarium are a great escape from city crowds and madness. Casa de Campo was still damp from a recent winter shower and thus very green. We enjoyed the zoo/aquarium, and appreciate the efforts to make the animals habitate as natural as possible. The sea lion show was a kick. I would recommend to families. We did not see the drug addicts a travel book author writes about, just your usual joggers, middle age walkers and lots of school children going and coming from the zoo/aquarium.

Children Heaven!by Yahoo | 2005-02-24 20:42:22 |

The children loved it - the swimming pool, zoo and theme park were right up their street. Not so great for us adults, but there are plenty of other places in Madrid to enjoy ourselves!
