The history of Manila is closely tied to this body of water. Naval battles were fought here, including the celebrated La Naval de Manila in 1646, which effectively put a stop to repeated attempts by the Dutch to take over the Philippines. It was also on Manila Bay that the Spanish fleet was annihilated by the American forces under Commodore George Dewey, ushering in 40 years of American occupation. But more than anything else, Manila Bay is renowned for its spectacular sunsets—a must-see for every visitor to the city.Open Hours
Mo to Su from 12:00 AM to 12:00 AMWho in the world is posting all of these rave reviews about Manila Bay being worthy of 5 STARS? I have been living in Manila for 6 months now and am located across the road from Manila Bay and am repulsed by the amount of trash that washes up to shore each morning and Heaven forbid you want to "take a stroll" on the baywalk because the smell of sewage is so profound that you need to cover your mouth and nose or the smell will knock your socks off! There are homeless families all over the baywalk and you will be approached by every single one of them for a handout! If you ever expect to see a cop around, you can forget it. They are no where in sight and they are certainly not out "giving tickets" because every single driver in metro Manila is breaking the law while on the road. It's pretty pathetic and pretty dangerous. The only good thing that I have to say about Manila is that the people are very nice and welcoming...even you are approached for a handout which will be at every single intersection, every corner and yes, even on the baywalk, the people will address you as ma'am or sir. They are always happy and smiling and this is really the only positive thing about Manila.
Used to have a place to walk around right at the bay, there are still restaurants, and live bands at the area but not like when they had Baywalk.
God's abundance is reflected in this ambiance of nature. However, when nature calls, facilities for this need detracted from the ambiance and the peaked senses from within. How much pride would Manila proper be if the "comfort room" facilities were modernized just a notch...nothing fancy, maybe even 1970s standards? Is that asking for much? There are so many well educated, and people with financial means, who could make a difference in this matter. May even lead to other things to provide for some employment for God's poor and the less fortunate. I would be one filipino who would be so proud!!! Come on folks (of the world), the Philippines is "the best kept secret" in natural beauty come and visit and help enhance this natural beauty! There I said it.
we want to go and see the fish but we had to go home!! boo hoo!!
This is the place where me and fiancee from Colorado had our first dinner during our first meeting in person at the seafood resto here called harborview, ambiance is so romantic and very quite sorrounding with a cold breeze blowing, enjoyable food plus the different color of lights that sorrounds manila bay area add up to the nice view. It's perfect for date and seafoods menu.
manila bay is the best place to see a sunset. it's officially said that manila bay is has the most BEAUTIFULL sunset in the world. everything there is nice and cheap, just how everyone likes it. for me the best time to go there is during 5am-9am 2pm-5:30pm. afternoons are really ugly and hot. pollution every where. but during 5-9am the air is really cold and breezy. i usually take my dog there for a long walk, and im sure he's enjoying the the sight of of the ocean and the boats resting in the... where ever boats park. going for a walk near ccp is very relaxing. but if you like to go clubbing, its better if you go there around 8pm, alot of people to meet, bright lights, lound music and good food.
Anyone who thinks this area of Manila is good needs their head checked. Polluted water due to the heavy industrial and sewage wastes that pour into it, along with the hordes of homeless poverty stricken families make it a most unpleasant palce to be. Unfortunately I use the bay walk area to jog, but only because I dont want to get run over by the very aggressive and abusive drivers here. The Philippines has much better places to see that arent eye sores such as this place.
This is the place where me and fiancee had our first dinner during our first meeting in person at the seafood resto here called harborview, ambiance is so romantic and very quite sorrounding with a cold breeze blowing, the floating resto plus the different color of lights that sorrounds manila add up to the nice view. You and your lover need to stroll down here after dark, there's places to eat, and walk around afterward like we did.Its a place to relax and just hold the one you love.I miss our moments here..am sure we will be here again cus it's special to us now.
If you go to Manila you must go to the bay area and have a sun downer..Sunset is fantastic, some says it has something to do with Manilas terrible polution..i dont know, but breath taking it is.
The vendors and the food is masarap (delicious). The sunsets are beautiful. Nice boats rides with food and live music. Bands and entertainment evrywhere. just keep walking. Boom tarat tarat a popular song pays and is fun when the band plays it and u should see the dance. hahaahaha It comes from their tagalog tv show wowowee. it was the theme song but doodoo a dahdah is now the new song. Philipines and their tv is so much fun.You do not have to understand the language to get the comedy. I always stay in Pasay so i can go to the Bay walk. Great after a 24 to 32 hour flight from Florida USA.
