Overview

This bar has wrap-around windows that let you see the dancers bopping and jiving from the outside, or watch the street scene on Beale from the inside. Autographed guitars hang from the ceiling, offering proof that musicians such as Carl Perkins, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Joe Walsh and others have hung out here. The house act, James Govan and the Boogie Blues Band, performs at Rum Boogie Café when there isn't a visiting artist. The kitchen serves several dinner and snack items, but the Rum Boogie is famous for its red beans and rice.

Do you have to be 21, or is it 18+? My moms best friend is moving there this summer and of course we're going to visit. I am going to be 20 and was looking for things my boyfriend and I can do while we're there at night.

OMFG, what a blast we had. Saw so many greats that weekend. We stayed in the Peabody Hotel, took a carriage ride through town and partied on Beale St., pretty much closed Rum Boogie Cafe down. We drank till 4am, danced, just had an awesome time! Can't wait to return this spring/summer!!!

We were in Memphis 6 days and closed the Rum Bogie Cafe 2 of those nights. Once when Billy Gibson (who by the way is a most outstanding harmonica player) was performing and once when James Govan & the Bogie Band was performing. Both were phenomenal and we will go back each time we are there. The food is good, atmosphere is awesome and the entertainment is truly amazing. Sure hated to leave!

I enjoyed the food and the music. This place has a house band that is incredible. I liked it so much I moved to Memphis from California.
