Overview

Like Mark Twain, you can ride on a paddlewheel boat and relive a romantic era in American history. Afternoon cruises include a narration of the sights on the Tennessee and Arkansas sides of the river, while dinner cruises include a bountiful buffet, music and dancing. Try the moonlight music cruise with someone you love. There are daily and moonlight cruises in the warmer monthes, and the riverboats hosts special events in the winter months.

Good and Badby Yahoo | 2008-06-12 03:19:21 |

It looks like perhaps this company is past it's heyday which is disappointing. I would be embarrassed to have company over if my home was as poorly kept up as their boat. There were cobwebs all over the place. I learned over the edge of the railing to see the paddlewheel turning, and when I stood back up, my blue pants were streaked with cobwebs. Chairs and railings were visibly dirty, and the floor inside was very, very sticky, but the tables were clean. I was surprised to smell cigarette smoke at one point, and it turned out to be a staff member in a very dirty white shirt smoking in a corridor. That was disappointing. However, I did say GOOD and bad, so here is the good: I enjoyed the historical commentary. My questions were answered before I even asked them. I learned a lot and got plenty of recommendations for other things to do and see in Memphis. The requisite photo that many attractions offer for an outrageous fee was nice enough and cost only $7.50, or 2 for $10, which is extremely reasonable. The strawberry margarita was great, as well as the selection in the snack bar in general. The speaker walked around and answered individual questions, which people seemed to enjoy. There were three seating levels - one inside and air conditioned, one outside but shaded, and one upstairs in the sun and wind - so there was plenty to experience. In the boat's current state (in need a cleaning), I wouldn't go back. But if they hired a cleaning crew for a day or two and cleaned up their staff image (clean uniforms, no smoking), I would most definitely go back.

Not a real paddle wheel boatby Yahoo | 2008-06-11 17:28:31 |

I always wanted to go on a paddle wheel boat. After I bought the ticket and and boarded my boat, I realized this it was a modern diesel steel boat. The paddle wheel in the back was only for show. I was disappointed. Still looking for a real paddle wheeler ride.....

I took my family for a sightseeing tour during the summer--it was very relaxing and educational. During the trip we noticed a an airboat speeding by. We tried it and it was a thrill ride!! The captain went over sandbars, waves, dry land--you name it we did it!!! We are going back this year.

most horrible nightby Yahoo | 2008-02-18 22:14:42 |

Febuary 14, 2008 the worst Valentines Day ever. It was my 5 year anniversary and I thought the riverboat would be a romantic idea, well i thought wrong. One, we get to the boat to find a horrible sitting arrangement, but guess what our name is marked off on it, so we have no seat. It was great standing there for 10 minutes while they tried to find use a table when the reservations had been made for a month.Anyways as the night goes by we wait for our turn to go to the BUFFET, they said they would come get us to go get food, we were on the opposite side of the boat so we got to go last, while others apparently got to eat several times. We did not get any food, well we did but idon't think you consider cold chicken and green beans food. Finally at the end of the ride they tried to compensate us for the food we did not get with a bottle of Andre Extra Dry champagene, a $6 bottle that they say cost $25. In all we were compensated $49 out of $100 for the most horrible night of my life. Trust me I have been to many places but this was by far the worst do not go!!!!!!!

The Best Tiome of my Lifeby Yahoo | 2007-12-11 17:48:00 |

The Memphis Riverboats was the greatest experience we had while we were on vacation. We did the Historical Sightseeing Cruise (spectacular) first, then we did the airboat ride(thrilling), after that we did the Dinner Cruise the food was awesome the crew was very nice and my husband got me a love package with a teddy bear and some balloons it was very romantic. I would tell everybody to go to the Memphis Riverboats.
