Downtown Oasisby Yahoo | 2008-08-17 02:26:19 |

Enjoyed the entire experience. The monorail (Try to get to the leading part of the car; the feeling that one is about to collide with the bridge brings an element of excitement to the ride.), the museum (Take your time there is a lot to absorb.) and the river walk (The water was clean and the entire area well maintained.). A very nice place...

When we visited Mud island it was a hot day, the tour of kindergrten- 5th grade really enjoyed walking and playing in the water & purchasing treats from the concession stand after going thru the museum. The tour was interesting and walking back over was good excercise.

peaceful placeby Yahoo | 2007-05-02 19:37:33 |

it was nice to leisurely walk around the island and see how the Mississippi River runs thru the U.S. took the pedestrian walkway over even though the tram runs underneath the walkway. quiet spot to enjoy an afternoon. swings set up along the river. would have liked to stayed longer but had to catch a plane. small cafe there to grab simple bite to eat. would definitely go back if I should return to Memphis.

Can I move this place to my hometown?by Yahoo | 2007-04-30 15:36:52 |

Oh, WOW!! We almost didn't go to this attractions because we were so tired and ready to drive back home, but we stopped. It is so neat. It was my favorite place in Memphis. We did not visit the museum, just the park. It is a great place to have a picnic. The sight are amazing. You can see barges on the Mississippi River. The bridge that connects Arkansas and Tennessee and so much more from this location. The miniture Mississippi River model opens up to this neat spot where you can ride paddle boats or wade in this fountain. My kids had so much fun. There is alot of shady places to just sit and relax. So, can I move it to my hometown?

LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!!!!!!by Yahoo | 2007-01-17 21:45:59 |

I loved Mud Island!!! I went to Memphis for Graceland, but when I heard about this place I thought that I would give it a try and I thought it was great! I have been back to Memphis 4 times and it was great every time! The museum is awesome and I loved walking "in the Mississippi River"!! I thought the tram ride was fabulous. I know that the movie "The FIRM" starring Tom Cruise was filmed there and as soon as I got home, I watched it. I thought it was cool, because on the movie, he rides the tram on Mud Island! I will go back a a million times! It is great fun for the whole family!

Nice placeby Yahoo | 2006-07-10 15:42:39 |

I enjoyed the visit to Mud Island overall. The view was wonderful and the riverwalk was a hit with the kids. I did find the monorail and the museum to be a little pricey although I did enjoy both. I was really disappointed the Memphis Belle was no longer on display. I think it was a nice place to visit but I will probably find other places to see next time I'm in town.

Good time, but...by Yahoo | 2006-05-20 17:44:51 |

The River Walk was fun, but if I had to do it again, I would not spend money on the monorail and museum. Both were a little bit of a let down. By all means visit the River Walk. You'll enjoy it.

love itby Yahoo | 2006-03-11 08:43:58 |

i love mud island. i am from memphis and it is a fun and interesting as well as relaxing place to visit. i love riding the monorail and walking across also. my kids love it too. the museum is interesting and different from the pink palace which makes it good for people. my kids like to wade through the water. the only thing i would like to see is the return of the pools and beach area it is so hot in memphis in the summer and that would be so great. i would pay just to swim. keep up the good work.

Memphis' Little Downtown Secretby Yahoo | 2006-01-04 18:15:39 |

I loved the atmosphere, scenery, museum, monorail, River Walk, pedal boating, bicycling, etc. No one would ever think that this attraction had so much to offer RIGHT in the middle of downtown Memphis...RIGHT in the middle of the Mississippi River. It brings diversity to the list of Memphis attractions. I recommend it as a MUST see for ANYONE visiting Memphis and even for other local Memphians who like to 'play' downtown.
