Great, elegant South Beach hotelby Yahoo | 2008-09-30 14:24:05 |

Excellent stay at Loews - can't say enough about the staff/service and hotel overall. Amazing location on the beach, would stay again for sure Recommended for romantic getaway!

Perfect Place- would never stay anywhere elseby Yahoo | 2008-09-19 21:46:54 |

This hotel is seriously fabulous. I don't even know where to begin. I had done TONS of research on hotels, even the ones the costed $500 something a night, and I am so glad I chose Loews. Some of the $500 something a night hotels aren't even on the beach. You can just tell from the outside the Loews blows all the other hotels out of the water. The landscaping and fountains are very unique. Everyone is super friendly. EVERY person I came in contact with was very nice and helpful! The hotel is huge! Loved the fountains going down to the pool. The pool is huge, plus it has a large fountain and two jacuzzis. The "pool boy" people put a cover on your lounge chair for you and bring you a towel. They stop by all the time to ask if you need anything. You have to order a large Rum Runer. It comes in a large container that says "bucket O booze" on it. Its expensive, but definitely worth it, it is delicious!!! The rooms a very clean as well, the hotel is in a great location. Everything is within walking distance- no need to even rent a car. We walked in to bars at other 5 star hotels and we are glad we didn't stay there. They seemed over hyped and either borring, or overbearing. Loews is an excellent value! Everything was perfect. I would never stay at another hotel. I can't wait to go back. It is good for parties- from small groups like bachelorette to big groups like a wedding, its great for families, and then couples.

A Plus All Aroundby Yahoo | 2008-03-01 05:53:44 |

I was very impressed with the hotel service overall. The food was excellent - excellent variety, fast service. Valet service beyond top rate. I am dispointed that they are booked full as I was planning on spending a week there again with my husband. Now I have to choose another hotel and I am hoping it is the same top quality as Loews - hopefuly next time we can get a room.

Will Not returnby Yahoo | 2007-07-19 14:24:52 |

Hotel advertised "kid friendly". Was not. Room Service lost my child's stuffed dog. Activities were almost nil. Example: Raft race. (Took three minutes). Example: Film. (Cancelled, did not tell concierge. In that I expected to meet child after film, and Concierge was clueless as to what was going on, could not find child). Coffee was expensive and terrible. Extra charges tacked on for things that should have been included. Bad hotel

A mixed bagby Yahoo | 2007-07-15 18:53:46 |

Good points: 1. Location - within walking distance of the Art Deco district 2. Beach - some rocks, but ultimately a nice beach, though they didn't have an exclusive presence (other hotels shared the same stretch) 3. Emeril's Restaurant - It's a good place to eat, and conveniently close 4. Pool - It's quite large compared to many, and it needed to be - very crowded 5. Pool service - There's nothing like getting fruity beverages and decent (albeit expensive) food delivered to your lounge chair or in the pool. The towel boys were also very nice 6. The bed / bedding was comfortable (I think Westin Heavenly beds are better, but not by much). Flat screen LCD TV, and a decent stocked mini bar. Good toiletries (I save them and donate to charity, but nice nonetheless) The bad: 1. Service - Questionable at best.. was asked to go down to the front desk to: A. Retrieve something from my valet'd car, B. Extend my stay by 2 days, C. Drop off laundry. In all cases, every other hotel I've ever stayed at (now, hundreds if not thousands) could do this without my physical presence. Even when I wasn't asked to go down stairs, Star Service was actually 1 star service. Not good. 2. Room Service - The food is really not good, very expensive, and always always always delayed and/or the order inaccurate. It's amazing how bad it is. 3. Pool cleanliness - Not necessarily the fault of the hotel, but I can't count how many times I removed cups and other items from the pool. Really unfortunate. 4. Internet - Not necessarily the most important thing in a luxury hotel geared mostly to leisure travelers, but still - costs $9.95 (after paying for a room that's $300 or more, how petty). And it's performance is quite variable. Sometimes speedy but often too slow (assuming that's when peak guest usage is, but why would I want to pay for that??).

Fantastic getawayby Yahoo | 2007-07-10 16:26:07 |

This hotel has a great pool with beach access. While lounging you can indulge in complimentary smoothies, fruit, and evian water mists... Highly recommended!
