Fun for kids, but be prepared for extra moneyby Yahoo | 2008-12-27 16:36:42 |

We went with our 5 yrs old daughter the day after Christmas, on a Friday. We arrived there around 5,20 and we found parking pretty easy, but cars were arriving at a rate of 10 / minute I would say. First advice: BUY tickets online. That's how we did, and we just went through, while the lines at the ticket boots were already around 30 persons at that time. Second advice: if with kids, try to take advantage of all the free rides there are for them. There are enough to keep you busy for the whole night, without spending extra cash on that. Be aware that, despite the advertise on the site, there are plenty of rides and activities for which you are expected to pay (which is really bothering, considering the price is big enough, and the fact that you still need to drink / eat something while you're there). We did decide to spend money on the elephant ride, and we went all of us on the elephant, since it did seem like something fun and different to do. What I would recommend: try to go with some friends, and let them take a picture of all your family, as this will spear you the cost of them taking you the photo on the elephant. The ride is 5 $ / person, but the cost of a reasonable size photo is a whooping 20 $. That's why someone taking your pic while you are all on the elephant would come pretty handy. Food and drinks are plenty, but you might consider bringing along at least the drinks, as you will find other stuff to spend your money on, if you really must. I wouldn't bother trying to get in time for the shows. For example, the elephant show... there wasn't any! Despite the advertised hour for the begining of the show, they actually decided to rather take money from kids wishing to feed the elephant or families wishing to ride, instead of having the show. All shows seem old and you will find it hard to appear enthusiastic for the sake of your child. The magic show was a little more appealing to the kids. All in all, it was a fun experience for our daughter, and that is what matters for a parent. But: come early, buy tickets online, bring alone some drinks (even a home made sandwhich for your kid - remember that food in such places is not the healthiest to give to your kids), and extra cash.

If you love animals don't support these peopleby Yahoo | 2008-12-15 15:05:47 |

The rides and lights were nice - similar to any decent local canival I thought the "use" of animals was disgusting and will never return due to that. They had pony rides where the poor ponies had to walk with their necks tied to a post in a circle for 8 hours (same ponies), they had an elephant doing an act which was shocking (check out www.circuses.com to see how they need to beat elephants to do this type of thing), and other similar animal acts. The ARFF was protesting out front which was my first red flag. I don't see the point - I doubt anyone goes for this but rather it stops people (such as myself) from wanting to attend - didn't like having my kid exposed to this stuff.

Don't waste your money..by Yahoo | 2007-12-14 20:12:46 |

Very dirty place..nasty bathrooms..very crowded and completely disorganized. For the price of admission it should be better. I would never go again. Not enough parking..If you arrive after 6 you will be hiking. Can never compare with Disney Very Merry Christmas which is only about 10 dollars more. Sure it's a drive to Orlando but what a fantastic evening. Go the extra mile and forget this old, worn out place.

crowded, cattle herdby Yahoo | 2007-11-27 03:43:27 |

it was so packed and disorganized it felt like we were in a cattle herd. Open late and the later it got the more shady people arrived. be aware!

Nasty, nasty, nastyby Yahoo | 2007-11-26 23:26:18 |

Everybody skipping lines (1 hour minimum wait to get to every ride), awful organization, nasty bathrooms, first and last time in that nasty place. Don't go...spend the money in the local church's carnival. It's better.

My friend went & I can't wait too!!!by Yahoo | 2007-11-25 22:51:36 |

My grandma is 85 years old, and I want to take her this year for her Christmas present from me. I hope they let her take an elephant ride as I love introducing her to things she's never done. This is the place to make nice memories! My family all has went & now I am finally going! This is way better than the State Fair!! Enjoy & Maybe this year you too can bring your grandma!
