This chic establishment winningly combines Vietnamese food with fine dining. At Thoa's on Ponce, the starters include seared tuna filet, green papaya salad, and cold spring rolls. The Asian Bouillabaisse is exceptional, as is the Roasted Filet Mignon with Caramelized Potatoes, garlic, and onion. Desserts show far more French influence than Vietnamese. Try the profiteroles or chocolate hazelnut torte. The ambiance is more French than Asian; elegantly decorated, dimly lit, and full of well-dressed people speaking in low tones.
