Overview

For years this phenomenal work of art has fascinated people from all over the world. Coral Castle's creator carved his fantasy world out of stone using nothing but homemade tools. Those who flock to see this stone garden have to wonder as to what could have inspired a man to labor 28 years to create it?

Journey through the Human Heartby Yahoo | 2007-11-17 22:01:17 |

As an engineer, I expected to be awed by the sheer acheivement of quarrying, moving, and erecting this structure. Instead, I became far more interested in the man who created it than the large coral blocks--it was merely an introduction to the man. His love for his creation and dedication to it made me awe-struck. The kind of person, living as he did, and what he was able to accomplish, could only have come through a great understanding of the universe, an understanding quite unique in the world. He also had a sense of humor and would barbeque (before barbeques were invented) hotdogs for the kiddies. I loved the whimsy of his first rocking chair, and his large "valentine" table. I came away loving the creation and the man, and felt sad at his passing. I would have liked to have met him when he was alive. I think he is one of the world's visionaries when it comes to understanding the energy structure of the universe. The visit here was inspiring. If you like things like pyramids and the Mystery Spot, you will like this.

Incredible Energyby Yahoo | 2006-06-08 06:37:07 |

Coral Castle is truly unique and magical. The best time to go is sunset. The energy is at its peak at that time. What Ed did and how he did it is totally mystifying. He must have known the secrets of how the pyramids in Egypt were built AND he incorporated the spirituality of India.

Truly Mindbogglingby Yahoo | 2006-02-01 16:42:40 |

I love this place. No one has figured out how the builder created this masterpiece. The mystery died with him. Even modern-day science has no answer. If you have any brain cells you want to excercise, go see it.

Incredible achievement of a single manby Yahoo | 2005-04-27 20:32:39 |

Very special place, it's a "Castle" (rather small) made of coral rock by a single man from Latvia. Be sure to do the tour with a guide and also read the booklets are it will become rather boring. This man was very spiritual and believed in magnetic energies... he also had excellent engineer skills since he could move several tons blocks on his own using hand-made tools. I think it's a must see, but definatly needs a guide.

Amazing placeby Yahoo | 2005-04-21 16:02:09 |

Make sure you find a guide to walk you around this place - that really makes all the difference! It really is amazing to see these heavy pieces that this small man was able to move. If you like science, you'll like this. It's worth the drive but do some research on this first to make sure you're interested.

interesting, but not worth the driveby Yahoo | 2005-04-08 17:12:13 |

Unique, but not worth the drive down to it. I have a hard time picturing him or anyone else actually using these stone "furnishings." Interesting place, but poorly interpreted and looses appeal quickly.
