Overview

Still dishing up some of the city's best traditional fare after years in the business, Di Gennaro's is quite simply the daddy of all pizzerias. Pizza classics take shape as they have always done in the old-fashioned tiled oven, and Di Gennaro's does not stop there - they also feature a number of other gastronomic delights with gnocchi alla romana starring as the house specialty. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, and the house is always packed.

So disappointing!!!by Yahoo | 2008-05-08 07:48:13 |

We had great expectations coming here from some good advice from the web. But the staff was unfriendly, room was cold, the pizza was tasteless and cheesy, and the buffet all of a sudden became more than twice as expensive as promised. They actually counted every piece on the plate while we served ourselves and ate. Milano is full of great pizzerias. Go elsewhere.

Stay away: A disapointment and a rip off!!!by Yahoo | 2008-05-07 18:32:44 |

This was not a fine experience. No atmosphere, a sad waiter and misleading prices. Even the little room they put us in was too cold. They had a buffet starter from 7 Euro. There were small plates, and I only had one plate. On the bill they had charged me for 15 Euro. They said it was because I put on expencive products. And believe me; it was an average buffet - at the most. My best best advice is to stay away - there are far too many restaurants that are better than this one - and cheaper.

Avoid this place!by Yahoo | 2008-05-07 14:02:32 |

Based on reviews found on the web we decided to eat at this pizzeria during a trip to Milan recently. It was easily the worst experience I have had at any pizzeria in Italy ever, and I've been to quite a few. The pizzas very not very good in the first place, but the worst was the complete lack of service. Mediocre food, ugly decor, freezing temperature inside, the whole experience topped off by a meaningless argument with two waiters when we complained that they had charged double price for the appetizer buffet. Conclusion: Avoid this place!

To All Genuine Travellersby Yahoo | 2007-02-05 17:39:51 |

Attention to all genuine travellers!!! I came back from Milan last night and would like to share our experiences to all of you. i hope this review will not be deleted!!! My friends and I have picky mouths and we all know wot we are putting in mouth. i was told that this restaurant offers the best pizza in milan and therefore we booked a table in the hope of trying out some fabulous pizzas. First of all, we suspected that the pizzas were all readily made and they werent even served hot. The taste of the pizzas were much or less the same as those purchased from tesco!! There were very very few italian customers and the majority of them were visitors. Regardless the quality of food, the service was awful as well. Since their targets were visitors, they should at least hire more english speaking staffs. A lot of them speak very limited english, my friend wanted to alter some orders and one of the staffs looked at us and turned away... thats it... The value of this restaurant did not reflect the quality and service it offers. The overall price wasnt majorly bad, but in comparison to other pizza restaurants, it is a bit over priced and what we got was far below our expectations. Anyway the more i type about this restaurant the more furious i become... if u are hoping to have a taste of some fine pizzas in milan, DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT... *Roar*
