Overview
Frequented by the world's jet set and well-to-do Milanese, Milan's Montenapoleone is famed for its wealth of luxury boutiques. Top names in haute couture and ready-to-wear, from Versace and Dolce & Gabbana to Louis Vuitton and Valentino, they all have shops in Montenapoleone. Some of the world's finest jewelers, including Cartier, Bulgari, Pomellato and Tiffany's have stores here too. Even if you're not buying, the stunning window displays are always worth a look. Whats more you even get great bargains during the season in the number of shops in this shopping crazy district .
First and probably the most important thing to do in Milan is shopping of course. The greatest streets for high-class shopping are Via Montenapoleone, Via Della Spiga, Vittorio Emmanuelle, etc. This is probably the most elegant, vibrant and exciting part of the city. All big names (my faves are not so big - Casadei and Roccobarocco) are concentrated within one fashion block. Every shop has its own specialty of course so you just have to go into all of them... You can feel the atmosphere, made by the creator, and very exclusively pick what you need in the appropriate environment. Breathtaking... :)
The range of high class stores and fashion is without equal. A treat just to stroll the area and window shop.Shoes(many shops),dresses, suits, accessories, bedding (Frette), leather goods and atmosphere.
fabulous place...I stay in Milan for 7 days... And I shopped there everyday non-stop from 12 to 6 ...great experience... Theres also a famous resturant in that area...named BICE....a MUST TRY resturant.. I totally fall in love with their food...delicious.. Best beef tar tar in Milan..no joke
The shopping was fab!!!! its so easy to spend thousands. amidst the jungle of the elite shopping, there is a designer outlet, where you can pick up couture pieces for next to nothing. Unfortunately I discovered this as i was rushing back to my hotel to collect my luggage to get back to the airport before i missed my flight. Still managed to pick up a pair of seven jeans for bargain price, and a kenzo scarfg for almost nothing. as much as i love it, i guess my dislike would be the same, soooo easy to spend thousands. But generally the experience is worth it. just living the hollywood (in this case, the milanese) dream.
A very popular street for the rich and famous. designer labels are everywhere. It is the best place for a spot of window-shopping, or if you're really brave you might even buy something.
