Located five miles from Kaunakakai, this 900-square-foot, four-room suite occupies one level of a private home. A separate bedroom sleeps two and the living room has two daybeds, making this appropriate accommodations for two couples or a family. A thriving fruit orchard and vegetable garden surround the property and guests are welcome to pick away. Cook your own breakfast in the fully-equipped kitchen or enjoy a huge breakfast of taro, fresh fruit and luscious homemade breads prepared by host Cheryl Corbiell. The unit is across the road from the ocean and near a public beach. Shopping, activities and restaurants are a short drive away. No credit  cards are accepted.

We only had 2 nights on Molokai between 2 weeks of timeshare on other islands. Cheryl was very helpful with her information before the trip. She met us at the airport so we could follow her back in our rental car. The unit was kind of old fashioned but very large. We didn't do any cooking but could have. Cheryl gave us lots of good leads on restaurants (The Cookhouse and the Molokai Ranch buffet) and entertainment (The Aunties at the Molokai Ranch and Lono at the Molokai Hotel). Her breakfasts were WONDERFUL. She also told us where to snorkel and catch the sunset and provided beach chairs. This is a very laid back and untouristy island. If you're looking for a "resort" I'd skip Molokai but if you want to relax and feel like a native it is a great value. If we return to Molokai we would definitely stay at Ka Hale Mala.
