Overview
This British-style pub is small enough for an intimate date and large enough to provide a great time over a few drinks with a group of friends old or new. The truly British decor of the place gives it an authentic feel. The restaurant serves up traditional British fare and there are 16 beers on tap. With burgers named Picadilly and Trafalgar, as well as drinks called the Leprechuan and Red Silk Knickers, you cannot go wrong. Most sandwiches and burgers are around $7. Besides good food and drink... they only have ONE bartender... so ladies don't plan on getting any drinks cuz she only pays attention to the guys! They blonde that works the bar is also the waitress so even if you get a table and buy dinner you have to walk to the bar to get a drink. Also if you feel like waiting a week for your tab (which was never correct) or having an old (older than 50) guy hit on you by all means go.
Burgers are great. Music is good. Dartboard and Touch Screen Video Game makes for a fun atmosphere. Mixed drinks, not their cup o' tea! Just DON'T make the female bartenders mad. (It's pretty easy to do.) Stick to beer and be nice to the staff or don't bother going!
Great family atmosphere. Very friendly and food is delicious. Many different brews, both imported, domestic and micro-breweries on tap and in bottle. Casual atmosphere and EXTREMELY friendly service. We will definately return here on our future visits to Monterey.
Slightly off the traditional pub crawl in downtown Monterey the Bulldog offers local atmosphere, excellent beer on tap and outstanding burgers. Intimate for lunch and rousing for happy hour stop in for fun and conversasion any time of day. Located between Monterey and Pacific Grove it's worth the time and gets you away for the tourists. Don't forget to the the bell at the bar and see what happens.
