Pull up a chair or a stool, as the case may be, and settle down to enjoy fresh-baked bread, yummy cookies and steaming cups of coffee at this friendly, informal bakery. Lunchtime visitors can either order a sandwich from the menu or come up with their own recipe from the list of meats, cheeses, and condiments. This is no ordinary deli counter, either. The choices include pesto, grilled onions and Jarlsberg cheese. The decor is adorable within and without. Bright murals and baskets of flowers accent the airy dining room and the shaded outdoor patio.

the few times that I have visited the wild plum it has seemed very understaffed. The wait staff seems frustrated and flustered-maybe because they don't have enough help for the volume of customers. The menu is good though. The owner seems like she needs to get it together.

Great little find in old Monterey. You cant beat the price and the food is delicious. Huge portions, mostly organic ingredients. They also have a large selections of muffins, cookies, pastries to go if you don't want to sit down. I cant wait to go back.

The food is great and healthy, the pastries are divine, and the atmosphere is relaxing. A great place to eat!! If you are in town choose The Wild Plum!
