Overview

Estadio Tecnológico hosted the Mexico FIFA World Cup in 1986. An obvious haven for football lovers, it has been in operation since 1950. The home football team, Borregos Salvajes, practice their free kicks here. Originally, the stadium could accommodate just about 19,000 people at a time, but a major overhaul has now allowed for 38,500 football-crazy fans per game! Majorrock concerts and other entertainment acts are also staged periodically—Irish band U2 made history here in February of 2006, when they played to a crowd of 42,000 on the 4th leg of their "Vertigo" Tour.
