Overview
Housed in what was the Olympic Velodrome, this science center and ecological zoo is home to four distinct ecozystems. You will find a lush Tropical Forest, the temperate Laurentian Forest, the St. Lawrence Marine Ecozystem and the Polar worlds of the Arctic and Antarctic. Plenty of interpretative panels and staff are on hand to help you on your self-guided tour. The Environment Place amphitheater presents films, performances and lectures, all related to conservation and environmental protection.well i thought itvwas a litle too tourist trapish and it smelled in the temperate Laurentian forest but overall the most poor thing was that it was too hot in the tropical forest!
I liked it because it gives you a different aspect into what is an ecosystem and what kind of plants animal and food source is available to them. Its great if you want to habe fun but also learn at the same time and of course the animals are awesome
I can't say much except tish place is amazing. I would travel around the world lust to go here. any body of any ahe would love it. you can go any time of the year and it would still be the same
I love it the whole experience . A must Take your time an enjoy what they are showing you it nice.it was expensive but worth it
Found the place to be a substandard zoo. The upside to the Biodome was the penguin exhibit - which was pretty neat. Otherwise, the Biodome was quite small, took only an hour or so to get through, and was not very interesting. Small selection of animals. I would recommend it to penguin lovers and people who can't get to a real zoo. On the other hand, running at about $10CAD, it wasnt too overvalued.
It was very exciting! There were many different ecosystems.and in each one you could almost feel it! Get the audio, it is informative. It's right by the Olympic stadium.
I loved the Biodome! It was a lot of fun watching the animals in an area close to their natural environment. I do wish the arctic area had been bigger, though. That's the only thing I think the Biodome could improve on. You should definitely visit the biodome if your in Montreal. It's fun for kids and adults alike.
I really liked the Biodome a lot! I am an animal freak, and I love nature, so this was definately the place for me! I was a little upset however that they were so inflexible about time. I was with a group of 40 poeple and they were very unwilling to stay open in the gift shop a few minutes longer to accomodate us if need be, so we had to go on super speed through the bio dome to make sure that the students on our trip had time to shop. I probably could have spent more time inside. The gift shop had some great prices, and we bought some amazing souvenirs for next to nothing!
We were very dissapointed. This place is mostly hype. They could really put some money into improving and expanding the Biodome. The artic area was very small and the other areas were not very impressive. It was not worth the money and seems to be a tourist trap.
Unless you have very small children who are easily impressed, skip this tourist trap. You do not get much for your money. The artic exibit seems unfinished and the other exibits pale when compared to other zoos and natural history museums in north america. They shuld really close this place and improve the exibits and facility.
