Overview

Frederick Law Olmsted, of Central Park fame, designed this park in 1876. It is easy to forget that you are in the middle of a huge metropolis when walking or cross-country skiing on the park's many well-signposted trails: chief downtown access points are from Parc Jeanne-Mance (Parc Ave northwest of Ave des Pins), and at Ave des Pins and Drummond St, just west of Royal Victoria Hospital. Beaver Lake features skating, tobogganing, and even a small ski hill and chairlift, while Mount Royal Cemetery is one of the continent's largest.

amazing timeby Yahoo | 2008-01-11 14:58:55 |

we went to mount royal on a saturday at around 4pm. there was snow everywhere, so we brought our sleds and figured we'd find a slope to sled on with the kids. instead we got there and discovered the tubing slopes, and the other great slopes next to it where they used their own sled. then it got dark and the night lights went on and it was even better. everything was organized and great, the kids had a blast. there was even skating at the bottom of the hill with music, we didn't have our skates but the people seemed to be having a great time. it was such a cheap and fun outing and i would definately recommend it.
