Overview

Founded by the renowned film critic Enno Patalas and supported by the City of Munich, the Filmmuseum is known to cinema enthusiasts throughout the world for its preservation of films deemed to be at risk, such as Fritz Lang's Metropolis. The ambitious programme contains films by both the well-known and the lesser-known directors and actors as well as contemporary films which have been ignored by video rental companies. The museum is a part of Münchner Stadtmuseum.
