The Ships Inn,built in 1831 by whaling captain Obed Starbuck and known as the birthplace of abolitionist Lucretia Mott, enjoys a certain historical value. Today's guests are more likely to comment on the comfort of their cheery, wallpapered rooms with antique furnishings and pleasantly surprising modern amenities. A continental breakfast and afternoon tea are included, but guests should be sure to save room for dinner at the Inns award-winning restaurant.
