Overview

Just outside of Nashville is this small reconstruction of a pioneer settlement. It was from this settlement that the city of Murfreesboro grew. Named after the first Whig governor of Tennessee, Cannonsburgh Village features log homes, a gristmill, schoolhouse, town hall, blacksmith's shop, church and museum. Inside, each building looks as it did in the early 1800s. The camp is open to the public year round, and school groups and tours are welcome. If you come in July, you can enjoy the weekend long festival of music and hand made crafts known as Uncle Dave Macon Days.

      I really enjoyed this placeby Yahoo | 2009-02-08 12:26:24 |

I really loved going to this place. I even told family and friends about it and posted it on myspace. I love seeing the things from the past and they hit in in every way. It was so cool to go see. I would highly recommend seeing this, you will not be disappointed in what you see.

      Nice idea, but?????by Yahoo | 2007-05-23 21:51:21 |

This may have been once a very nice idea but needs to be better taken care of and added to. Items on display rust or are falling apart form the way they are kept. Nice site along the river, but nothing to capture that feeling. Where is the famers market (Yes I know there is a pole barn next door for it, but needs more) Re develope this downtown area and make it something to be proud of, not just a couple old buildings.

      loved itby Yahoo | 2007-05-10 19:43:19 |

I got married there! We used the chapel and the reception house! Thepeople were so nice and helpful. I would tell anyone that is getting married to do it there.

      Kids love itby Yahoo | 2005-12-03 00:57:49 |

My kids enjoyed Cannonsburgh Village. They enjoyed shopping at the gift shop and looking inside all of the historical buildings (house, church, etc) It is beside the Green Way, so we usually look through cannonsburgh first and then make our way on the Green Way trail to enjoy all the different scenery. We can't wait until it warms up so we can go again.
