Overview
Nassau's rich pirate history is remembered at this popular downtown attraction. It takes up nearly a whole block, just off the main shopping drag. Visitors tour a full-scale pirate ship, a dungeon and a cheerily debauched pirate community. If you wish to make an evening of your tour, buffet dinners or formal entertainment can be arranged. A relaxed patio bar is located just outside the main attraction. The gift shop, an attraction in its own right, can be accessed from the street.Open Hours
Mo to Sa from 09:00 AM to 06:00 PM, Su from 09:00 AM to 12:00 PMIf you are a Museum type person, than you will enjoy this. The Narrator pirate they had was cool, but its a very short tour. We were out of there in less than 20 minutes.
We were in the Bahamas about 3 years ago and took in this tour. Even though we were part of a huge cruise ship and there were other cruises in port this attraction was fairly empty. We stumbled across it by accident just walking around Nassau and my husband and I both loved it. The exhibits were interesting and informative. It seemed the whole place was well kept up and carefully maintained. I don't remember what the cost was, but we're hoping to be back in Nassau later this year and can't wait to go back to the Pirate Museum!
We loved Pirates of Nassau, the guy that greeted you was a blast we spent so much time with him, he posed and posed with us, I sure he spent 45 minutes with us making pictures and the museum was interesting, I loved bring pictures home to my grandson, who is a Pirate! we were there in January of 2005, I really enjoyed it
We went during the week around 2:00 and it was empty, so no lines. We took our time on the self guided tour. There are many postings to read and a few audio areas, but most of it you need to discover on your own. You can take pictures and the restrooms were very clean.
Excellent museum, the displays are awesome, and the people are very helpful and friendly. A must for anyone with salt water in their veins, and a love of pirates!
It seemed like the things were coming alive!! The best time to visit is in between June and July. Everybody would enjoy this!! My overall experience was EXCELLENT!!!!
We had a guide part of the time and was on our own the rest of the time. Our guide was interesting and fun. After the tour, he came outside and offered to take fun pictures with him. We didn't know there were famous female pirates, so now I am interested in their stories and have bought a book to learn more.
I love museums but when i think of Pirates of Nassau museum, it's a complete different experience, it is like being inside Pirates of the Caribbean!
I thought that the tour was alot of fun and well worth the $12. Our guide, dressed in pirate attire, was enthusiastic, informative and quite entertaining! He even encouraged everyone to take fun pictures with him after the tour. The gift shop was loaded with pirate booty and the bar looked like a fun hang-out, although I did not do so myself.
The museum was a nice look at the Pirating History of Nassau. It was very well put together, although it was not terribly large. The admission of $12 was OK and the gift shop is pricey. Little kids may not enjoy it, but if you are interested in the pirate history of the Bahamas, it is a nice sidetrip.
