A great way to get a glimpse of New Haven from the Long Island Sound is via the beautiful, 91-foot gaff-rigged wooden schooner Quinnipiack. Cruises from May to September offer a variety of themes. There are ecology boat rides where you can learn about aquatic life in the Sound, and sunset cruises where you can relax while listening to a guide spin yarns of local sea lore. Take along a picnic lunch or dinner and enjoy a full or half-day tour. Private charters are available for special occasions from April through November. Beer and wine are permitted aboard for adults.
