From the delectable appetizers to the music playing in the background, everything is thoroughly enjoyable at Haveli. This relaxed but somewhat upscale restaurant has a charming atmosphere, excellent service and reasonable prices. At dinnertime Indian musicians play softly, allowing their sitars to carry each patron away to a world far from the East Village. The Samosas (meat and vegetable filled turnovers) make an excellent start. Lamb and spicy seafood dishes, shrimp or chicken tandoori, tikkas and kebabs of all types are popular main courses.
