Overview
Around for more than 100 years, this huge cafeteria-style Jewish deli may not be the place to take a date-formica tables lined up in rows will remind him or her of eating in a school lunchroom. But if you are craving a giant pastrami sandwich or a couple of kosher hot dogs, there is perhaps no better place than this to go in the city. There is table service, but most people take a ticket at the door and give it to the counterman when placing their order; they then pay on the way out.Open Hours
Mo to Tu from 08:00 AM to 09:45 PM, We to Th from 08:00 AM to 10:45 PM, Fr to Sa from 08:00 AM to 02:45 PM, Su to Sa from 08:00 AM to 10:45 PMLES deli
This place is definitely for somebody who likes deli and old stories. We went there after a walking tour of a LES, tired, hungry and excited. No wonder why the tour starts and ends at this place... A very nice senior gentleman told us that Kat'z Deli was established by a Russian immigrant family in 1888! If you like salami and pastrami you have to visit it.
